About

Fabulous Local Farm

Description

Our farm is season and weather-dependent and our livestock is on pasture 100% of the time. Nothing in nature produces 24/7/365 so we don't expect this unrealistic goal from our livestock, therefore we don't feed anything to our animals to make them more prolific. Both flock and bovine graze on native legume grasses and live outside unconfined under Florida's sunshine, every day. We are prolific in eggs Spring-Autumn, and raw milk is available almost year-round, but please contact us before visiting because we are often limited since we are a very small family farm.

We are certified Animal Welfare Approved (the most stringent 3rd party certification) and while we are not certified organic by a third party (by choice due to expense), we still meet the required USDA Certified Organic requirements. We also practice the Juliette de Bairacli Levy traditional husbandry methods of rearing livestock. We are grateful to Whole Foods which weekly donates to our farm organic legumes, nuts and seeds which the flock may free-choice from, and especially when the grasses are shorter either due to inclement rains or heat, we supplement with certified organic nonGMO SoyFree CornFree raw feed. We also sprout thousands of pounds of Organic Black Oil Sunflower Seeds for the flock to free-choice on, and daily we open fresh coconuts for them which they enjoy to their heart's content!

Please call us before visiting so that you are not disappointed in case we do not have in-season what you're hoping to find. Please consider supporting Florida Farmers that practice sustainable pasture-raised agriculture, and please consider opting out of out of Confined Animal Feeding Operations as well as trucked-in farm foods and raw dairy from far-off sources outside of Florida. Please help keep farming, raw dairy and nutrient dense foods local and thriving. Thank you for your support!

Just got my first order from them. First time trying raw milk and it is the best I’ve had. The kefir is exploding with probiotics.
I can't say it enough, these are great people. They have a wonderful product and unbelievable service. If you're looking to improve your health, let them teach you how to make Kefir/Yogurt from their raw milk. It will do your system well!
Bought raw milk last week for the first time..the woman was very nice and knowledgeable. There was a gentleman there feeding the chickens mixed nuts cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds, etc which is a great source of protein and healthy fats and I absolutely loved that. I will definately be back!
My family loves coming here. We always buy the fresh eggs and kifer when we stop there. The kids enjoy seeing the animals on the farm. Svetlana and Marty are so caring and know alot about their business. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to eat healthy and organic food.
We spend half the year in Boca and the other half in Chicago. This is my favorite place by far to come back to when we return. Marty and Svetlana are the best people and run a great family business. Every product we have tried has been amazing and we are so thankful for this family and their work!
I absolutely LOVE Heritage Hen Farm. I really miss visiting Svetlana and Marty at the farm, but I am so thankful they still provide delivery services right to your door. The products are always fresh and fantastic! Thank you guys for all you do!
My family and i were very disappointed when we visited. We were looking for a local farm to buy fresh and raw food from. Our goals is to shop from local farm to our table on a weekly basis so after reading the reviews of people saying how good this farm is and some saying they got to see and feed the cows, some even posting pictures of kids feeding chickens we knew this was the place for us. After waiting 2 weeks because we kept missing their very limited hours, we decided to block off a few hours from work and made the drive over with the kids. They were so excited to see the chickens and feed the cows and we were too, because there's nothing better than seeing for yourself where your food comes from. Well, when we got there we were greeted at a shed filled with products for sale, no different than a mini convinience store, but saw no farm, no chickens, no eggs, and no milking cows. Just a shed/food store shack on a dirt road with no farm in sight. When we asked if the kids can see the animals and feed the cows, They did give the kids some dry straw to feed 2 cows behind a fence whose utters looked like they havent been milked in years. We purchased some milk & Keifer to try but still left wondering where what we bought came from, for all we know we had just bought overpriced Publix milk. Definately not the atmosphere thats described on here at all and if it used to be that way before it definitely isn't that now. Very very disappointing.
From the chickens roaming freely to the rides on the bike carriage to collect fallen mangoes to the informative and friendly "staff", this idyllic farm reflects some of the best parts of this world. My wife and I will definitely be returning soon even if it's a 45 minute drive.
Stopped by one day about a year ago for some fresh eggs. I asked for 2 dozen and the lady would only let me buy ONE dozen. It was right at closing time.. I bought the dozen and I watched as she carried the rest of her freaking precious eggs back to the house. Unreal. I won't be driving all the way there for anything ever again.
Warm, friendly, family atmosphere. The products are amazing and my family looks forward to going every time. We just love Marty and Svetlana.
