We have come here several times and something different is always happening. The history of the pioneers is already something you can easily appreciate. This is the Place takes you back in time and experience some of the things the pioneers did like pushing a handcart, leather stamping, visiting the blacksmith, gold mining, washing clothes by hand, farming, tasting pioneer food/drinks and more. The staff dress in pioneer clothes, play their part and have good knowledge. Take the time to learn about some of our pioneer ancestors and you’ll grow a greater appreciation for what they did. They also have farm animals, a playground, food, and Brighams Donuts!!!Geared towards children but the adults can join in on the fun, hence going there multiple times. This is all in the pioneer village which is worth the ticket price IMO. You can spend a whole day here if you took the time to visit each building. I would plan for ample time if you want to explore every nook and cranny and let your child do all the activities. Not everything is always open. It is gamble what is open on what days/seasons. Great place for pictures as well. We have yet to try everything they have available. In the summer during the day it can get hot so you’ll need plenty of water. A train takes you around the village but you’ll still do lots of walking.
There are so many fun things to do here! We walked through the museum and then headed outside to look at the monument. The little town is very thought out with plenty of hands-on experiences for all ages. Use the big train to get the layout, then explore!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
If you are looking for a kid friendly places to visit this is The Place. My 6 year old and I loved it. We spent all day at the park exploring and doing activities. They have little workshops around the park and also most of the buildings have a host that talks about it. If you get tired of walking, there is a train that transports you around the park. We had a great experience.
It's so fun and there is a lot to do. I came here with my family and there was something for everyone. It is a great pioneer program. It has stuff from a train to get you around with a little history involved to a yummy donut place to handcarts to learn and see what it would be like to be an actual pioneer. Definitely recommend!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Very relaxing atmosphere here. Many activities possible for children and adults. There is a narrated train ride highlighting historical facts about the features in the park. There is good food to eat at the hotel as well as a picnic area and a water park for folks to enjoy. Ice cream, donuts, gift shop items are available at various locations. Our children especially enjoyed panning for gold, playing on the ship, and interacting with the farm animals.
Good place to spend time with family and recreate the conditions of times when early Mormon pioneers arrived to Utah. Plenty of activities for children of all ages. And the gift shop is excellent. Plenty of options. Bring water it is very hot in the summerVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
We came here for a youth Trek and they did a great job making sure our time was filled and everyone had a good time. Overall it was well organized, the kids enjoyed the dance, the food was good, and the exhibits are great. I don't know if the people that help out work there or if they are volunteers, but during the track one of the women kept making "suggestions" but then yelled at everyone for making their own decision. "You may not want to take your flag unless you want to take it to the top of the hill," "Oh, we're good taking it." Yelling "DON'T TAKE YOUR FLAGS!!!" Just as one example. She did this several times. Communication was good overall, but definitely not great. If you're pinched for time and don't want to drive 4 hours, this is a decent place for Trek. If you wanna learn about pioneer life, ancestry, and stories then this is definitely the place.
Is a perfect place to stay all day long. A lot to learn about history and averting about pioneer. History and more. The location of the park is where, on July 24, 1847, Brigham Young first saw the Salt Lake Valley, which would soon become the new home for the Mormon pioneers. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe Young had a vision shortly after they were exiled from Nauvoo, Illinois. In the vision, he saw the place where the Latter-day Saints would settle and "make the desert blossom like a rose" and where they would build their State of Deseret. As the account goes, Young was very sick with Rocky Mountain spotted fever and was riding in the back of a wagon. After exiting Emigration Canyon and cresting a small hill, he asked to look out of the wagon. Those with him opened the canvas cover and propped him up so he could see the empty desert valley below. He then proclaimed, "It is enough. This is the right place. Drive on." The words, "this is the place," were soon heard throughout the wagon train as the Mormon pioneers descended into the valley, their long journey having come to an end. The statement was first attributed to Young by Wilford Woodruff more than thirty years after the pioneer advent.[1] Over the next several years, tens of thousands of Mormon pioneers emerged from Emigration Canyon and first saw their new home from this same location. A Utah state holiday, Pioneer Day, occurs each year on July 24 to commemorate the entry of the Mormon pioneers into the valley.
Very kids freindly if you looking somewhere to take kids and have fun please bring them to this place. Park is very nice and bigger.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
