The Herkimer Police Special Response Team is comprised of highly trained and motivated officers from the Herkimer and Mohawk Police Departments.
The Herkimer Police Special Response Team is currently comprised of 13 highly trained and motived police officers from the Herkimer and Mohawk Police Departments. The purpose of the Special Response Team is to be readily available to handle high risk incidents that may arise, which regular patrol officers may not have the specialized training or equipment to handle. These duties may consist of but are not limited to armed/ barricaded subjects, active shooter situations, high risk warrant execution.
The mission of the Special Response Team is to protect life and property and seek peaceful resolution through the use of specialized training and equipment.
