When we moved to Ottawa and located in the neighborhood,a friend recommended this store for its selection and service excellence. They did not disappoint! Now,20 something years later we heard the sad news that they are closing. Another Ottawa landmark business closing down. We want to thank the family and the staff for the many years of friendly,knowledgeable service and wish all the best for their future endeavours.

I visited this store a few times. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Liked the setup they had during the covid lockdown. You cannot go inside the store but they have set a table at the store entrance. You can place your order or ask questions to the staff member standing on the other side of the plexiglass window. They will bring your order in minutes.

Went to homedepot to return a grinder from a 17 day prior purches, because the bushings started smoking and well that ain't good. The girl there Ashley right off the start refuse to return it because it looked damaged, but to proceed to investigate the serial numbers. Even though refusing to return it... took it out the box and Brought over 3 staff whom all were not managers. When I asked for a manager because these kids refused to help me. Or give me it back because they weren't going to help me. They told me they asked for one...and then when I asked for the recite back and the product Ashley just kept trying to tell me they can't and looking at the product trying to find something. Looking for the same serial number that was on the box and recite No Manger ever came I had to read then the return policy I also bought a extended warranty I felt like they were calling me some kinda scam artist.. I just wanted to return a tool that no longer worked with in 17 days of purchase I as a company owner love homedepot but I will not shop at this one after this ever again, I'd rather travel across the city the go to this one.

This store is consistently great. I agree with all of the positive comments here about the helpful staff. Once I went in there looking for a sale item from the flyer. The staff steered me away from that item, explaining why another, much cheaper item would do the job better. You would not get that type of service anywhere else!

This review is long overdue. Home Hardware really treat you with a lot of hospitality. They are smaller than the other big names but because of that, it allows each of their representatives to really listen and cater to your needs. I always think of them first before other hardware stores now and am always looking forward to each and every visit. They also stock products that you won't find at the other big name stores which I found very refreshing!

Thank god these places are open during the pandemic and that they e handled curb side pick up well. They're just lacking staff who are knowledgeable. Some know exactly what you need, some will look for an item forever and bring you the wrong one or say this is the closest thing they could find even though it's definitely there. Otherwise great small shop. Can't wait to be able to go inside again.

What kind of a hardware store closes at 4pm? Most people don’t even get off work at that time. May as well not open at all.

I really love coming to this location, mainly because of the staff. They are always so approachable and helpful - they cheerfully accept all my oodles of questions on DIY projects. Almost all aspects about this location are fantastic. My only concern is how cramped and tiny the isles feel. They seem significantly smaller than most stores in the area. I hope they can stay within South Keys but move to a location where they can expand their inventory and make the store itself as functional as the staff.

This is a great store. The sales people are always friendly, they almost always have what I am looking for and have a great selection. Today I even got some great kids chairs on clearance. I shop here regularly and always have a pleasant experience.
