My experience with the Walton St. Hertz was quite good. I reserved a car for a good price and when I showed up the young lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The vehicle was clean and drove very nice. I returned the car and the same young lady was again very friendly and I was emailed a receipt a the agreed upon amount moments after I left.
I don't have any thing bad to say about the rental place or the car. I got a good deal and a newer car. The problem is with the company in general. I hit a pretty bad hail storm coming back from my vacation and the car was damaged. When I returned the car I filed a incident report and they said customer service would contact me but it could take a couple of weeks. Well newer heard anything from them so I called and got the run around and finally found out that the incident report was never filed. So I give them one again. Still never heard from.them Its now 2 months later and still nothing they won't even answer my insurance company. So at this point I figured they don't want their car fixed which is fine with me. I figured they have been renting it out anyway.
Great servivce! So quick and easy, literally took no more than 10 min to get my vehicle. All these negative reviews about not being clean i mean cmon be real. Would you rather wait hours for them to clean a vehicle so u can leave or get your car and go? I choose to get it and go. I can always clean it if needed
Picked up a rental since my car is in the shop getting repaired. I was the first customer of the day and was surprised with how unkept the office was. Since they just opened their doors I kinda thought it would have been fresh and clean. The two employees not only played on their phones as they waited for the computers to load properly after having to turn them off due to communication errors but one employee also sat snacking on chips while touching my id and credit card. I was happy to finally get a car after 30 minutes to then be disappointed that the inside of the car was dirty. There was empty water bottles and food wrappers in the backseat, trash and receipts in the front console. There was also cardboard and hangers in the trunk when I went to the store later. I went home disappointed and thought I would just deal with it. When I was contacted the next day asking how my pick up was I informed them of my concerns. Their response was sorry they were under staffed and the car was mixed up with clean cars. No bring it back and we will switch it out or can clean it up. FYI the rental paperwork in the car says it was returned on 8/7/23 so clearly it was forgotten about. Wish I had went with enterprise instead.
If you have any other options,use them.They charge a 500.00 deposit. Car was filthy inside and out. Felt with a guy named Scott.. I wouldn't call in Mr friendly. I'm not going to go into the lies. I'll give them one star, but that's only because the car was running. Since there was a tire that they knew was leaking. Why else would they have put 45 lbs in it. My experience with Hertz, had an adverse effect on my entire stay in Illinois.
I have rented from Hertz many times in the last couple of years. This experience will make me move over to Enterprise for sure! First of all there was a mixup on my check in... the car they gave me was filthy! Inside and outside of the car were gross! What did they do about it? Gave me a coupon for a free car wash at a local gas station.... problem is that car was is under construction... So I had to wash the car and clean the inside out as well... The people working here don't seem to care at all. Give them a little pushback and their only answer is well you will need to call the 800 number... NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE!!!
Never has any cars available! Literally took the money off my chime card WEEKS in advance for the rental and then day of pickup informed me they don’t accept chime and I had to cancel my whole birthday vacation to Tennessee! You would think somewhere online during the rental process they would state they do not accept chime or decline my card at the time of purchase! Customer service was awful! The lady didn’t even try to help, just gave me a number to call and the employees seemed very uninterested in being there! Also opened late while a line was waiting outside! Never again will I attempt to rent a car through hertz
While Enterprise cancelled my reservation last minute without notice, I was able to quickly book with Hertz. The car was clean and brand new, it only had 4k miles on it. Checking out was quick, and checking in was even quicker.
The service is unprofessional and the employees are too. They clean the vehicles out in front of the entrance into the business. Garbage all on the ground. The cars are not fully cleaned or washed. Never received my deposit and I took the car back on a full tank. They leave you on hold if you call in for a extended period without checking in. It’s overall horrible experience. If I had to rent personally but I had went through insurance.
The best stand-alone rental location in Rockford! I was needing a car 15 mintues to their closing, and they hooked me up! Also, I forgot to park my car at the bus stop, and they kept the towing company away! Excellent!
