Booked a full-sized SUV online around 10am to pick up at 4pm. It said they had one available and let me book it. When I got to the parking lot, sure enough, there was a black Suburban sitting there ready to be rented out. As I was going through the renting process, the girl informed me that they don't do same day rentals, so now I can't rent a car. I asked why they allow it on the website. She said Hertz hasn't corrected it. I asked why they didn't call and let me know before getting dropped off by the shop. Her answer was that it had been a busy day. It definitely wasn't busy when I got there, because the place was empty and she was playing on her phone. That policy isn't a Hertz policy and she didn't mistakenly not rent me a car. The policy was put in place by bad management. The car was available to book online, it was available in person.....their policy is just that they don't rent same day and won't call and let you know know. Took an Uber to enterprise and booked a car on the way. Sitting in it now. Edit: They charged me a no-show fee of $260.22. That'll turn into a punch in the nose fee if it is not taken off. These people are shady AF. Don't even think about renting from here. I am reporting them to corporate
Was involved in an auto accident and choose Hertz due to its proximity to my residence. Called this morning to confirm the rental prior to dropping the vehicle off at the body shop and was put on hold three separate times. The first was for 13 minutes and the call dropped, the second was for 16 minutes and I called back, told the first person I was on hold over 20 minutes and was placed on hold again. Held for 8 minutes and then gave up. I’ve contacted the insurance company and I’m switching the rental to Enterprise.
I reserved a car for 6/1 at 4pm to go out of town. I arrived at 4pm and was told not only did they not have the class of car I reserved, they didn’t have ANY cars. I asked them what the point of a reservation was if they didn’t reserve one for me? They said basically, “sorry. We can’t help. We can call another location more than 45 mins away but they will be closed by the time you get there.” I asked for the manager’s name and they said they didn’t have a manager at this time obviously. I then asked for the district manager’s name and they refused to give me the info. They said the only way I could file a complaint is to call the 1800 number. When I asked for the number, the associate threw a brochure at me. After calling, I learned that they do not accept complaints via phone, but only by their website. Luckily I was able to go across town and rent from Enterprise and they will have all of my business from here on.
Book through a third party app for cheaper rates! Hertz is my favorite go-to for car rentals. Today they lended me an awesome Nissan on short notice. Meanwhile the other lenders in town told me they couldn't guarantee a car, even with my reservation a week in advance.
The car was awesome, but the service people here, need some sort of training with customers. They were not rude, but just seemed lazy to help me when I reserved my vehicle in advance. They lied and said that my vehicle choice needed an oil change so, they gave me the option of waiting. I left the place for about an hour or so and when I returned the door was locked and there was a note saying will return shortly. So, after waiting two hours, the assistant manager asks if I want him to check on my vehicle. I'm like "wow"! "This guy is trying to have me here all day". I understand things happening, but all this could have been avoided if they would have called me 1st thing that morning and let me know my vehicle choice was not an option for the time slot I chose. I ended up getting a different vehicle because, really, someone else booked the same one as me. Honesty, helps sometimes! I would rather pay airport fees or maybe just use Enterprise, than to ever give my business here again!
Good overall experience. No complaints from this customer. Would recommend to others.
Made reservations online because I need a car to get to work tomorrow. Drove from out of town and was told when I got there, that I have to wait 24 hours after booking to get one. That would have been helpful to know at the time of booking. I would have went else where that had same day availability. It’s already almost 5 and now I’m out of luck for work tomorrow.
They open for 8. i booked the pickup time for 8am. I get here 7 minutes until 8 the gentleman is sitting inside looking at me and will not let me in. Seriously, customer service already sucks and the expectation has now been set. when I explained my frustration, politely, he refused to rent me the car. He is supposedly the manager, after I asked for a manager he said he was one. Lance W. is who assisted me , do not rent from them. I never raised my voice or was rude. I just simply asked why do you have a pickup time for 8, when you don’t open until 8. He did not like that.
Worst hertz office I've worked with. I reserved a car trough priceline but when I arrived they said the rental rate from priceline was only an estimate and charged me 30% higher per day. They also tried to sneak additional hour charges onto the bill and gave me a car with 3/4 tank of gas but claimed it was full. When returning the car they had a poor woman there who had reserved a car but were telling her they had none available. After returning my car I realized I left my glasses in the car and tried to call them but kept getting put on hold then hung up on after 20 minutes each time. AVOID THIS PLACE.
Was having trouble locating a car and Jose hooked us up! Great employee, strongly recommend working with him in locating a vehicle.
