My name is Vicki Burke Stevenson, and I have bought, sold, rehabbed, rented and custom built homes for the last 15 years. I now bring my extensive experience about houses to my home area – Homewood-Flossmoor.
I was raised in suburban New York, but spent my vacations in Homewood visiting my grandmother and other family. My grandfather founded Bannon Floor Coverings which was one of the longest running businesses in Homewood. I would spend my school vacations in my grandmother’s apartment upstairs, and remember fondly watching parades, walking to restaurants, and enjoying the sense of community I never did in New York.
It was these memories that brought me back to the area to raise my children. The excellent schools, involved parents, diversity and tight community is everything we wanted in a hometown, and we’ve never regretted a minute. There is simply no place like this around, where families stay for generations but newcomers warmly welcomed. Where people look out for you and yours. Where you have an old-time small- town feel, with modern and big city amenities here and of course a close train ride away.
My family has a long history in real estate, including my grandmother buying and moving houses off of Dixie Highway to Terrace instead of them being torn down. The flooring work my grandfather, mother, uncle and cousin did throughout the area can still be found.
Although I’m very happy to work with anyone’s real estate needs and give you the best customer experience available, I’m particularly suited to those who are looking to buy or sell a diamond in the rough. I love helping people see potential in homes that others may pass by. I can help a seller put their home’s best foot forward, and help buyer envision what could be.
One of the best things about the Homewood-Flossmoor area is the people. Neighborhoods, not subdivisions. People who care, will reach out, will lend a hand. I can introduce you to people, recommend places and contractors, point out volunteer opportunities, etc. HF is very welcoming.
I live in Flossmoor with my husband, father, two boys, and three dogs. HF is home.
