Early in the year churches are invited to participate in the School. Those choosing to participate pay a $100 participation fee. These funds are used for publicity, postage, missionary orientation day, and advance travel funds. Each church is invited to be represented on the School Planning Team.
Each church is expected to provide each missionary with meals, lodging, a place for a presentation, and to receive an offering. Offerings are pooled by the School of Missions treasurer who then shares the offering equally with the missionaries. No School expenses are paid from these offerings.
Publicity materials provided each church may include posters, biographical information and pictures, and media materials.

The School of Missions schedule runs Sunday morning through Thursday evening with missionaries speaking in the churches on a rotating basis much like the old circuit riding preachers. Each presentation should allow the missionary from 45 to 50 minutes to tell their story. Churches are encouraged to maximize exposure to the missionary story in worship time.
The use of meals, decorations, radio, missions music, and opportunities to speak in the community or at schools can make the School of Missions week a time of Revival.
