Hickory Ridge Mall is a community shopping mall located in Memphis, Tennessee. It was severely damaged by a tornado on February 5, 2008. The mall was renovated and reopened in 2010.Key featuresThe mall featured more than 100 stores at its peak. With 855000sqft of gross leasable area it is considered a community "Towne Center" mall.It was opened in 1981 with Goldsmith's (later Macy's) and Sears as the anchor stores. In 1986 it was expanded with Dillard's. MM Cohn and Dawahares also operated as junior anchors. In 1997 the mall was renovated to help the mall compete with the Wolfchase Galleria mall opening that year. By the early 2000s, the mall had begun to lose tenants due to shifting demographics and a number of vacant big-box stores in the area. The Dillard's store closed in early 2006.TornadoOn February 5, 2008, the Hickory Ridge Mall was hit by a tornado. The Sears store, the Macy's store, and the mall's main entrance were heavily damaged, but despite an initial statement from management that the mall would remain closed "indefinitely" for cleanup, temporary repairs made at record speed allowed Sears to reopen on Sunday, February 10, 2008. Significant repairs and restorations will still be required, however. Several people were injured. A spokesperson for the state's Emergency Management Agency said that one person was killed; however, it was never confirmed, although three people were killed at a warehouse near the mall. Debris from the mall, in the form of insulating foam, was scattered all over the Memphis area, following the storm path northeastward at least 15mi to the Wolfchase area.

Missing the old scene when the mall had more stores, food, and fun times. Maybe this place should just be held for events now since its owned religiously now, smiles. Would be great to have more stores here for religous shoppers.
Sun Of A Vegan is in this mall. Plant based meals for those trying to eat better. Please support this business. They might be serving the Atlas Monroe vegan items. Atlas Monroe has been rated one of the best tasting vegan meals on the market.
Southern Hands was a last minute try. I vowed not to return because of mishaps previous. The food was fantastic but the price was out lavish. The menu is not accurate nor up-to-date. I ordered the lunch special but paid extra in taxes and sides. Gratitity was 20% and it was only me. Smh. I will be careful to read all the fine print before taking a bite.
I was working here today and so got a little idea about the history. It was kind of a surreal experience to be honest. Like a ghost mall or something. That big ole empty carousel in the middle of the mall that still looks like its in perfect working order....maybe a handful of people walking around with 90% of the store fronts locked down or empty...I could totally imagine the sun going down and about the time it's pitch black outside, the carousel powers on and spins its circle without a soul in sight. Let's just say I was gone before I got to find out
Phase 2 salads is placed in the food court area and after driving across town and the walk through the mall, I was advised they were only taking cash. What a disappointment. They should sign up for door dash or Uber eats.
Not much going on in there. I went in there to go to a salad place but it was way too expensive for me. Everything that I saw in there looked old in my opinion.
I love this place and Ms. Debra the mall manager. She is the best!
If you need a place to have a gathering or get together with 10 to 1000 people on hand..Please check out the Hickory Ridge Mall they are very professional
I loved the store called The Net. Sandra Sanders has a great place to shop for clothes and other items, and she sells Avon there too! Great place. I didn't go to any other shops.
Parking lto old and messed up, most things are gone from here. Honestly sad place to visit for most things.
