High Brow Beauty offers a full range of esthetic treatments, specializing semi permanent make up- microblading, machine brow techniques such as ombre, star dusting and shading, eyelash enhancements (or eyeliner), and lip blushing.
Microblading is a relatively new, manual method of permanent cosmetics specifically for eyebrows in which tiny hair like strokes are made to create a perfectly shaped natural brow. Because the pigment is implanted closer to the surface of the skin to procedure only lasts anywhere between 7-15 months.
Machine technique eyebrow enhancements tend to last longer (1-3 years) and result in better colour.
Semi permanent eyelash enhancements lasts anywhere between 1-3 years and is done by creating a fine liner within the lash line. This can be done on the top or lower eyelid. This technique can be upgraded to create an eyeliner effect.
Lip Blushing is a beautiful technique that gives lips a soft shade and more definition to the lip line. This results in very natural looking lips with a sheer glow. Lip blushing is semi permanent and can last anywhere from 1-5 years as the pigment slowly fades.
It is crucial that micropigmentation is done with the right tools and the best pigments by someone that has been trained and certified. At High Brow Beauty only the best, top-notch tools are used (ask me to show you my tools!), and the pigment brand is world renowned for its quality.

Consultations are necessary before booking any appointments to ensure candidacy. Consultations can be done online by filling out a form or one they can be booked as a 30min appointment. It is vital that you use full disclosure with your health history as I need to rule out any potential contra-indications.
It is very important that you read and understand all of the pre and post care instructions listed below. Following all pre care instructions and using proper aftercare is ESSENTIAL and will greatly impact the outcome of your procedure. If you have any questions or concerns regarding pre/post care instructions please contact me right away!
*PERMANENT MAKE UP/MICRO BLADING IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR- very oily/problematic skin, have a tendency for micro pigmentation, keloid scaring, certain skins conditions(such as Psoriasis/ eczema/ rosecea, skin rashes) near the area, are taking accutaine or have taken within the last 6 months, if you are pregnant or nursing (need to wait at least 6 months after pregnancy), diabetic, suffer from epilepsy, have low/high blood pressure, take blood thinners, have any viral infections and/or diseases, have a pacemaker/major heart problems, organ transplant recipients.
It is important to disclose your full health history (past and current), and inform me of all medications you take.
Please indicate if you are under a doctors care for any illness or diseases.
I cannot work on people while they are on antibiotics.
*Before having your procedure (also including any touch up appointments) you must alert me of ANY and all health conditions and medications. Topical freezing is used during the procedure- so it is essential that you fully disclose your health/medication history. Including supplements and possible allergies.
Pre/Post Procedure Information- IT IS IMPORTANT ALL CLIENTS READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AS THEY WILL EFFECT THE OUTCOME AND FINAL RESULTS OF YOUR PROCEDURE.
PRE PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS
Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis on the area at least one week before procedure
Do not tan at all for at least two weeks prior (if you come to your appointment with a new suntan or sunburn your appointment may be cancelled and you will be charged a cancellation fee).
Do not have any type of facial/ AHA peel 2 weeks prior to treatment. Do not have any microdermabrasion or laser skin treatments at least one month before your procedure
Discontinue Vitamin A/Retinol/ Trentiod products and any skin care creams that 'anti aging' ingredients on your face at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
Discontinue using benzoyl peroxide or any topical acne treatments at least 2 weeks prior to appointment.
(Please contact me if you are unsure about a product you are using.)
Do not work out the day of the procedure.
Do not have botox 3 weeks prior (please inform me if you are planning to have botox treatment on your forehead area as this may change the positioning of your eyebrows. If you are planning to have botox please have the treatment at least 1 month prior to your procedure so I can properly access placement and symmetry of brows as the muscles in your forehead always effect positioning of your eyebrows).
Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (they are natural blood thinners).
Do not wax or tint your eyebrows one week before the procedure.
I cannot preform this procedure if you are currently on anti biotics or have been 2 weeks prior.
*NO alcohol for 24-48 hours prior.
*NO caffeine 24 hours prior
*NO OTC pain meds, or blood thinning medication
*these things will thin your blood and will increase bleeding during the procedure. This will prevent pigment from properly entering the skin and can result in little to no pigment retention. It is essential that you follow all of the above pre care instructions for both your initial microblading appointment AND Touch Up appointments. It is up to you to inform me of any health/medication changes prior to any Touch Up appointment.
POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS
-Avoid any heavy sweating (work outs, yoga, ect) for AT LEAST 1 WEEK - 10 days following your procedure! The salt in sweat will pull the pigment out of your skin and you will have bad retention!
-Avoid direct sun exposure/tanning while you are in the healing process (at least 4-6weeks after the procedure)
-Avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas and long, hot showers for 10 days after your procedure
-No facials, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels while you are healing (4-6 weeks after procedure). No microdermabrasion or laster treatments on or near the microblading area at any time as this will fade and can alter the pigment.
-Avoid using any spot acne treatments (benzoyl peroxide) and glycol/retinol creams on your face for 10 days after the procedure. Never apply these products on or close to the micro pigmentation while you have it as these products will fade/alter the pigment colour
-Do not use any make up, heavy creams, or sunscreen on the treated area for at least 14 days after the procedure
-no tweezing at least 2 weeks after your procedure, absolutely no waxing or tinting after your procedure (procedures include touch up or perfecting sessions), or between your first microblading and touch up. If you need to tweeze your natural brows and are unsure of where you need to tweeze please book for an eyebrow shaping appointment with me.
NEVER pick, pull or scratch the area while it is healing. If it is very itchy try dabbing the area with a damp cotton swab. Any crusting/scabbing should naturally exfoliate off within the first 3-5 days. Please refer to pre-postcard instruction pamphlet or contact me if you have any concerns during the healing phase.
Please try to avoid sleeping on your face for the first week (or initial healing phase) after your treatment as this type of rubbing/pressure is not good for the traumatized skin.
Please limit your showers to 5min to avoid getting the area wet. Avoid any excess exposure to water, steam and sweat during the healing phase. This includes hot tubs, swimming pools, steam rooms, long hot showers, ect. Please apply aftercare balm to the area before showering, and make sure to cleanse the area (as per aftercare instructions) before showering (using a gentle motion with your fingers and water fro the sink.)
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
*please note that I may alter your specific aftercare plan (e.g., the amount of days you wash the area) as stated in the pre/postcare pamphlet. These specific instructions will be written down for you.
-Wash the treated area with Cetaphil the morning after your treatment, and continue to wash every morning and night for the first 3 days following the treatment. Either use your fingers or a cotton pad and GENTLY pat the area. You may pat the area dry after with a tissue.
-Use the Bepanthen cream (the white cream) the day after your treatment, apply a THIN layers (only need a tiny amount)and reapply as needed throughout the day. Keep in mind that the area just needs to look 'shiney'. DO NOT apply to much as this will create a thick crusty layer on top of the treated area and will deter the area from healing properly.
-After you have run out of the healing balm, you can continue to use the 'After Inked' pillow packaged balm to keep the micro bladed area properly hydrated in the following weeks
Microblading will not provide instant gratification, it is a process that requires at least 2 treatments. Results vary greatly from client to client& depends on various factors such as: the condition of the skin, skin type/tone, age, lifestyle, ect. Every client heals differently& it is impossible to predict or guarantee exact results. Facial skin is much different than other skin, and will not retain pigment like body tattoos. Proper home care is essential to obtaining the best results. It is important to discuss personal expectations and understand the many factors that may effect your results. Facial skin is much different from the skin on the rest of your body and accepts pigment differently than body tattoos. The pigment used in permanent make up is NOT ink, and is specially formulated for facial skin.
