Do students who attend have to be committed to a health career? Absolutely not! The program is uniquely designed to allow students who have interests and passions in health and health sciences to pursue those pathways. Each student will explore health sciences and health careers, however, the first goal is to provide each student a quality education, and expect the experiences and opportunities will prepare every student to graduate and to pursue a wide variety of post-secondary educational opportunities and careers. Our goal is to expand every student’s educational and career options, not to limit them.
The mission of the High-STEP Academy—a dynamic, regional partnership between secondary and postsecondary education, business, and community—is to provide secondary students with health science coursework and work-based learning experiences, to excite and prepare them for health science and technology careers.
