Our seafood boil was a huge success thanks to the Original Highland Fish Market in Middletown, KY. We love this place so much for all our seafood needs. It’s always very fresh and the owners are super helpful!
I love this place! I have always wanted to make sushi, so I googled sushi grade seafood and Highlands fish market popped up. Needless to say I was blown away when I went. They explained to me that they get the fish fresh EVERY MORNING… I told them what I wanted salmon and tuna for and the worker explained the different type of salmon for me. Long story short the people are very knowledgeable and willing to help. If your looking for Sashimi grade seafood this is your place!!!!
It is truly unbelievable what amazing quality their seafood is. I had no idea seafood could taste so good until I decided to give this place a shot! I will never buy fish any where else!! Everything is reasonably priced and the owner is very friendly, patient, and willing to spread knowledge! Couldn't say enough good things!!
Highland Fish Market is delicious! The crab cakes are full of lump meat & a great value. Their house remoulade is also tasty. The dry scallops are well sized & fairly priced. We are lucky to have them in Louisville.
This market has been a sweet little find during Covid. I have purchased shrimp, fish, clams, and much more many times during the Pandemic.Anyway, Michael, the owner is so nice! He has spent large amounts of time helping me pick out seafood, discussing great ways to prepare it, and helps with dinner ideas! Although the pricing is a little expensive- its HIGH QUALITY, FRESH SEAFOOD. We all know safe, tasteful, fresh seafood is an investment. I have been so happy to support a local business and get quality food for my family. Treat yourself and check it out!!!! sidebar: I appreciate his signage stating YOU MUST WEAR A MASK! We're in a Pandemic people, wear your freaking mask and stop causing trouble. It is mandated from the state of Kentucky. Amazing sashimi grade Salmon and Tuna, Michael is super informed and was very helpful, my go to place from now on!
Visiting from Atlanta used to live in Louisville bought lots of fresh Ahi and their awesome smoked scottish salmon. Had heard the old location had changed hands and my friends were disappointed with new "person". I tell you this because I didn't think they were still around so imagine my pleasant suprise seeing their present location and finding out still has great knowledgeable fish monger with top quality sea food that's FRESH!!! Get the smoked salmon it's moist and tasty. God Bless
I cannot say enough good things about this market. The food is superior quality and they have everything you need to make a great dish to share, including advice and recipes to get that dish elevated to party favorite! Family and community values really shine here. They let me know that prices on one of my favorite eats was going up soon and then prepared me enough for tonight and to freeze for later so I could get today's cost. They care about their customers pocketbooks and bellys! Even waited for me after closing to assure I got the freshest product. This place deserves 5 stars and an exclamation point!!! Order their smoked salmon and oysters for the holidays. You will love them!
To have a local fishmonger selling an array of sweet smelling fresh fish is a real gift in Louisville. I am a huge fan of the salmon options and enjoy the fish wisdom and recommendations made by the perfectly charming young man behind the counter. He has walked me through the preparation of my selections like a champ and I can now cook a darn fine piece of the superlative fish I've picked. True story: Recently, I wanted to try my hand at cod. Bought a nice big piece for me and my SO. Cooked as instructed by Michael, who had the patience of a saint, I pulled it out of the oven and took a taste, quality control is my job. It was so awesomely delicious, I stood at the stove and ate the WHOLE DARN thing. It was sensational! Do yourself a flavor favor and visit, Michael and Gary are smart AND fun, a pleasure to shop here.
Best place in town and other towns. I stop every time im in the area. The owner is super friendly and helpful with and questions and is always eager to help with suggestions on all product. Honestly, I wouldn't consider any other place to buy my seafood. See pics: just picked this up today.
