This was a nice quiet natural preserve, the trail is a short 1/4 mile circle. There are spots to sit in the quiet. No canal, no water, and close to the road is why I gave it 4 stars. But seeing all the pear cactus was cool!!!
Little walking loop with a great glimpse and information into what Florida scrub is. There will be plenty of lizards running around. I didn’t see any gopher tortoises, but they are part of the scrub ecosystem. Nice benches, two pavilions, trash cans, water fountain, and informational signs are through the park. It’s in a random location next to the train track so don’t miss the turn-off. Nice quiet park to get some sunshine or picnic.
It's a really nice preserve area called a scrub because of the ecology which is a desert like environment. There are quite a few scattered around south Florida. Look up the words "Scrub Habitat" for more details. Here today, Saturday, 4/10/2021@ 9:30am and all locked with no posting of why on the fence or on line 3rd time this happened for me. Called the number listed, left a msg.
Be careful going here. I went in the middle of the day and was approached twice by a man wanting to engage in inappropriate physical activity. I told him twice to leave me alone, and eventually left the park.Visited onWeekday
Very cool pocket of scrub with educational signs. Doesn’t take long to walk through - only about a quarter mile. Scrub is an endangered ecosystem in Florida so it is worth checking out if you’re in the area!
This place is a hidden gem where you can forget you're in the city. Paved trails provide a short but lively and beautiful walk. There is parking and a small picnic area as well as benches throughout, but no toilet.
Isolated bit of early Florida,pre development style. A laved walk thru old Florida scrub ,one area had a fire in 2014 and as Nature would heal it, so too has the county. Only downside ,it IS in the middle of civilization, so road noise and the neighborhood behind it can bleed in
A beautiful natural area with a good length walking path and plenty of parking. A lot of wildlife to observe. Could use some cleaning up as there were a lot of trash on the path and in the parking lot during my visit.
Beautiful park, it has a small paved path you can follow and along signs that tell you all about Floridas natural Srub history! Learned so much in just one loop
A nice place to touch nature in an urban/suburban environment while learning about the land. And if you are in exercise, walking the 1/4 mile trail is nice.
