A new playground and picnic tables up the hill from the rec center. There is a small parking lot next to the playground. I wish there was a shade over the play structure though. The sun is brutal! I was there around 10am but maybe at a different time the tall trees around it provide shade. It will be nice during wintertime!
It was pretty clean. The staff was cool. We weren't there too long, but it seems like a pretty normal rec center.
We are so happy the City of El Cajon expanded the use of this beautiful outdoor space to include a play structure and picnic tables. There are no other spaces like this in our corner of the City n Fletcher Hills. This expansion was needed and long overdue. If you need to keep a close eye on the little ones, take a chair because the picnic tables are just a few extra steps away from the playground.
Nice facility and the staff is wonderful. The surrounding park is also very nice. It is surprisingly quiet considering how close to Fletcher parkway it is.
Hillside is a great park that is tucked away. The only thing that would make it better is a playground but the field is a good size and well taken care of. The staff at the rec center is very nice and great with my kids. I really appreciate their activities for the youth.
I live up top on the hill. Great views of the park and tall trees. However, there are numerous homeless camps above the walking trails. Use caution, as the homeless let their dogs wander with no leash. Camps get busted, and move further up the hill over time. They are getting closer and closer to my property. I wish the park management would ask local law enforcement to aid in more airborne sweeps.
The rec center here is friendly and helpful. They are attentive to the kids and our son looks forward to going here Great place to take your kids.
This by far is one of the coolest gyms I’ve been to they are very respectful here and I love it
Beautiful grass area. Lots of room for the kids to run and play. Very quite and peaceful as well.
New to the area, and was happy to see all the programs and volunteer experiences offered for kids on up to adults.
