The rooms were clean and I can appreciate that. It's also a short walk from the Crystal City metro station which is convenient. This was not posted anywhere for me to see before booking, but room cleaning only occurs once every 4 days. This probably annoyed me the most for the price of the room. One of the drains had debris come up from the drain and it was draining extremely slowly. We went to leave the room and the door didn't sound like it shut correctly and when I went to check the door just popped back open. Figuring this was a mistake on my part I pulled the door as hard as I could and then tried again and it just opened up. We had engineering/maintenance come and fix both of these issues, but this was extremely concerning for our things left in the room and our safety. The living room AC would not work and I had to call maintenance for that. I was told later on the issue was fixed and it seemed to work for maybe a day, but then it stopped working again. I called again to have them come out but they never came the second time. I called the next day and they came out. The issue seemed to be resolved, but it seems like they just rigged it to be automatically operating in Auto Heat mode because even though I had it set to cool on the thermostat it just ran heat. Also, we were trying to take a shower at one point and the water was barely lukewarm. I had to have maintenance reset something in order to get it to warm up again.
We had a great experience with this hotel. Our stay was short due to a layover at the airport. We got in late, but the shuttle still picked us up. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodated us well. This was nice because we had been in airports all day and were very tired. We left early that morning and the shuttle didn’t miss a beat in getting us back to the airport on time. Great job!
It was just OK because number one ask for handicap accessible room. It was all the way at the end of the hall whats handicap accessible about that we had to go so far. After getting to the room the bathroom the toilet was on the floor making it hard for anyone with problems hard to get off the toilet. The rails were up but down to low for you to be able to pull yourself up. Come on who ever designed the handicap accessible rooms was. Not thinking much about handicap people. The tub in the room was stopped up and the water took forever to go out of the tub.Went to eat in the restaurant the menu said ribs32.00 on getting the food we only got one rib not ribs. Ribs means more than one. The gentleman said no one else had never complained. First time for everything. For such a high in Hotel there should not be so many problems. Don't get me wrong i enjoyed the room but a long way to get to it.
The hotel location was amazing and super close to a lot of DC attractions. But was disappointed to find out there was no housekeeping included. I was there for three nights and needed housekeeping but not included. Also there is no pool or complimentary breakfast. Just a gym. Otherwise hotel was clean but in my opinion not worth it for the price. Wish I knew about all of this before I booked, I would’ve bought a better hotel for $500. Also hotel parking is $33 a night. Ridiculous.
The good stuff: The staff are incredibly nice, and the shuttle to the airport works as intended. The not-so-good-stuff: 1 The airport shuttle from the airport never showed. We landed at Regan, and called the hotel to request the shuttle. We proceeded to Door 4, as were instructed for pickup, and we were told it would be 10-15 minutes of a wait. By the time 43 minutes passed, as well as all other hotel shuttles passing 2-3 times, we just took a taxi. 2 We stayed in room 312, discovered the shower drain was blocked, and regurgitating hair during showering. Mind you, this was definitely not our hair. After one shower coming out with hobbit feet, and discovering the issue - I went down to the front desk to ask for some draino. The clerk said that they were writing up a maintenance ticket, and the person would be up shortly to see to the drain. The tech never came during our stay, and I ended up sloshing through 3 inches of hair-water for a second shower on the trip.
I have passed by this hotel many times but I judged the inside by the outside and since the outside looked dated I thought the inside would be as well; I was wrong. My friend first booked this hotel and then when I saw the hotel I booked the hotel myself. The hotel is very spacious with a large lobby and lots of spaces to sit and mingle. The hotel room is equally spacious as well - the room is a standard Hilton Garden Inn Room but makes it special is the size of the room. I had a standard room with a king-size bed and the room was spacious enough for 2 people plus massive amounts of luggage. The only thing negative is that my room faced the main street and that is busy so you heard the vehicle noise in your room
The room was clean & beds were relatively comfortable. Bathroom had NO counter space & was very cramped the door also would not stay open so you would get hit with it while standing at the sink. Front desk staff was not very friendly.Rooms: 3/5
Internet in room was pretty hit and miss. There's a 'restaurant' downstairs. Wanted to order food but they had no info or menu on their website. A friend ate there a few times. The one time I asked how was it - It's alright, my meat was cold. Had a cold shower in the morning. Don't know if that is a common occurrence or just a one off. They do have a free airport shuttle though! Front desk staff is accommodating, except for one lady, you'll know who it is by the attitude.
The rooms are very nice, comfortable. Service is outstanding. Very understanding of new guests. Food was good, had the wings. Wasn't very hungry and they were very good. What more could someone ask for? Enjoy.Rooms: 5/5
Unplanned stay. Late flight. Called at midnight for room. No shuttle after midnight. Charged full price. No free breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. Lobby is beautiful.Rooms: 5/5
