On July 12th I reserved a room at Hilton Garden Inn in Waldorf, Md. I was told over the phone that I could come right away because my room was ready. Upon arrival I was told that I would have to wait an hour because my room wasn't ready. Due to a shortage of housekeepers, I would have to wait until they could get to my room. After one hour, I was given keys to room 204. I was told by the front desk person that this was the last room available. THE ROOM WAS SO FILTHY, THAT I SLEPT IN MY TRUCK. There were stains on every surface in the room. There was hair stuck to the ceiling in the bathroom. Even after wiping down the room with bleach wipes myself, it was still filthy. The bedding was dirty. The carpet had stains everywhere. I left less than an hour after getting the keys. I was told that I could not get a refund or another room and that I would have to contact management the next day because there was no manager present in the evening. I attempted to contact management the next day, no one was available. I had to leave a message. It's been almost 2 weeks and I still haven't heard anything from anyone. I'm extremely disappointed by the level of service I received. I'm a Hilton member and I have never stayed in such a filthy establishment. Hilton Garden Inn in Waldorf, MD needs to be SHUT DOWN.
Right location - however, this hotel an awful smell. The staff stand around talking & then greet you. The rooms need to be updated & carpet needs to be removed/replaced or something. This use to be one of mine & my sister favorite places to stay. Looking for a new place when visiting.Rooms: 3/5
I've stayed at this location multiple times over the past year and each time has been an exceptional experience. This time was even more welcoming due to Kasia!!!! I spoke with her multiple times about an early check-in and she was more than accommodating. She greeted me with a huge HELLO the second I walked in the door. Her personality and enthusiasm was a fantastic way to begin my stay. P.S. the faucet in 101 made some noise when I turned it on, but not a deal breaker AND it didn't disrupt my stay, but maybe something to look into Food & drinks: Boston Bar and Grill had amazing seasoned fries!!!
The hotel was unwilling to apply a government/military contracted rate when asked. They offered a military family rate although I was traveling alone. Additionally, the bathroom door in the room was severely damaged with a large hole in it. The room appeared clean, regardless of the damage. Additionally, the maintenance team must be understaffed becuase there were multiple things inoperable or broken. E.g., elevator control panel damaged, ice machine on the 5th floor, ev charging station outside. I would not recommend staying here.
The common areas of the hotel are very good, the hallways and carpet that leads to the rooms do the hotel a disservice, but the short comings of this hotel are overcome by the service people especially Ms. Serena at the front desk who is bubbly, knowledgeable and professional, and makes you feel welcome and valued as an Honors member. Also, dinner was unexpectedly good, I ate at the hotel just because I was too tied to go else ware and was pleasantly surprised by the service and meal. Sticky ribs I believe, and pizza bread the next night
My family stayed here for our family reunion in Maryland from 7/9-7/11. We DO NOT recommend!!!! My family reserved at minimum 4 rooms and none of the rooms were ready at check-in time. We were told only two housekeepers working. We were originally given rooms that weren't cleaned, and had to complain in order to be moved. The rooms ended up being ready after 6pm. A couple of the floors smell like pure fish in the hallways. Room 208 shower was not working. Front desk staff said it was nothing they could do that night. The staff had a technician come to the room near 6p the next evening to check the shower and got it working. Our reservations were booked in February 2023 and we received this message: Hello, We are so excited that you've chosen to stay with us. Team Waldorf is looking forward to hosting your stay. Our Garden Grille restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner service during regular hours. Our indoor heated Swimming Pool, Hot Tub and Fitness Center are available to use with no restrictions. Please note, due to changes in Brand Standards, we are no longer servicing guestrooms daily. Cleaning services are available every 4th day of your stay upon request only. Additionally, in-room dining is not being offered anymore. These are uncertain times for all of us, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and choosing to spend time at our hotel. Meanwhile, stay safe, stay healthy and we look forward to your stay! Best regards, Michael and Team PLEASE NOTE: The food was not complimentary like most Hilton‘s and the pool facilities were closed for maintenance. We were told to go to a sister hotel to enjoy their pool however, their facilities were closed too due to maintenance.
Find some where else to stay. Not worth the price. The Room: When we checked in the room had 2 light bulbs out, the door didn't close correctly, there was a wad of brown hair on shower soap dish, the shower head was clogged with calcium build up that made it shoot a stream of water and spray up in air and the shower wasn't/hadn't been clean. The next morning, I went down and indicated I wanted my room cleaned and refreshed. I was told they only serviced rooms every 3 days by one lady, she also said to set my trash in hall way to be removed. I proceeded to complain that the room was not clean and another woman the manager came out and said no worries we will go service your room. I also requested the shower head changed, the light bulbs replaced and door fixed as it stuck open. We left for the day and came back at 7PM. Nothing had been fixed. I was told handy man left. James came up and looked at shower head and took picture of wad of hair. He could fix anything. The next day I went down to get coffee and told the front desk, The handy man Brett was there and he told the front desk gal no one had given him the repair order the day before. He came up and fixed door, changed shower head and added the 2 missing light bulbs. The next day at 2:30 PM I called and asked for fresh towels. We came back after dinner and had no towels in room. Every ice machine in the hotel was broke and you had to go to bar to get ice. The Air Conditioners in hallways were all turned off, it was 86 degrees with 50% humidity. The room has rusted light fixtures in bathroom and worn furniture. I would not stay here again, very poor housekeeping staff. I am a Hilton Diamond member for life. The Police Station: on our 3rd night, I was woken up at 2:30 AM to the sound of 5 squad cars with sirens. the 4th night same thing. Then I realized police station was behind our room. If I had been on other side of hotel this would not of occurred. It is in my profile I am a light sleeper and request quiet room. I could not fall back asleep both nights after being woken up at 2:30 AM The air-conditioner: Worked great in day time but did not cool room at night. Very unpleasant sleeping. The Staff: The staff was very friendly and the most redeeming part of stay. Kasia was very friendly and helpful as well as James and Brett. This hotel needs to be remodeled, also the housekeeping staff well it sucks. The maid is responsible for reporting room problems. The carpet felt slimy and when my husband walked with his socks on the sere stained black. Really gross. Also we book hotel with pool so out grand kids could come swim, The pool was broke and closed. The kids were looking forward to swimming it was a let down. Also they were painting out side of hotel with a scissor jack. Guess were the parked scissor jack at night? In the Hilton Honors parking spaces. A whole huge empty parking lot and the parked it there 2 nights. Very bad experience. Never got food credit we were supposed to get.
We were in town to take care of a sick relative. The employees were kind, considerate and accommodating. We were impressed with the friendliness of the entire staff. We will definitely stay at Hilton Garden Inn Waldorf again. Rooms: Rooms were clean and well kept. Some of the furniture was showing age but the beds were extremely comfortable. There were plenty of outlets for charging your devices. Nearby activities: The mall is right across the street. There is also a movie theater and a large choice of restaurants nearby. Safety: Day and night there are always employees around an in the building to make you feel safe and secure. Food & drinks: Hot breakfast was quick and delicious. Coffee is available in the lobby. Cocktails in the evenings. Relaxed social atmosphere. The rooms have Keurig coffee machines. Noteworthy details: The friendliness of the staff really made an impression on us.
Once again. Use money earned to upgrade facilities like carpeting. Housekeeping came in to clean while I was still on bed at about 8 in the morning. Front desk personnel need proper training before being allowed to fly solo.Rooms: 3/5
