I've stayed at this hotel several times in the past 2 years and had great stays. My favorite things are the jetted tubs in the suites, oversized towels and soft but not too soft beds. Definitely worth the upgrade. The staff is also very friendly. The parking is convenient and ample. There's great food and shopping nearby. Will continue to stay here in the future.
My husband and I stayed here when we were traveling from a Canada to LA. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were very clean- the carpets could use a good deep cleaning. The entrance is beautiful. Parking you have to pay extra per night, the parking fills up quickly when we would be gone sight seeing all day and come back 11pm or later there would be 1 spot all the way at the end. We avoided parking in the underground after reading reviews about theft. We had no issues parking above ground. The pool is great and the hot tub is nice. Great view to look at from the hallway of your room. Overall great place to stay at clean and friendly close enough to all the sight seeing locations in LA without having to stay at a sketchy downdown location with homeless people. If you’re traveling with kids or a family would also be a great location. Close to a Costco and great bubble tea as well! The safe in our room wasn’t working twice so we called the front desk and the 2 maintenance individuals who came were incredibly helpful and quick and really kind we felt safe with them coming into the room and were not worried about locking items in the safe or room. They were quick to fix it and no hassle at all!
This hotel and especially the staff were amazing. They were very attentive and made sure I knew they were there to make my stay the best it could be. I was waiting outside for a friend to pick me up and someone came out to offer me cold water. Its all the little things that really make a difference. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.Rooms: 5/5
Arrived very late and check-in in a room that is pretty muddy and smelled of wet dogs. However, the night shift front desk is very kind and nice. He instantly changed my room, and most importantly, he inquired about housekeeping to see if the room is ready and double-checked the room with no problem. The housekeeping also directs us to the new room and ascertains that we feel satisfied with this room so he just leave. The room is nice and comforts me. I appreciate their best service perspective. Even though I was pretty tired last night, the sweet and best customer assistance make me feel warm and appreciate it.
I had a business meeting down the street from this hotel and due to a scheduling conflict found myself in need of a quiet space for a videoconferencing session. Darwin Wang, Director of Room Sales, and his colleague from the sales office did an excellent job of accommodating my needs on very short notice. I am a loyal Hilton Honors member and was treated as such. Great experience and great client service. Rooms: Small conference room provided was perfect for my needs. Walkability: Convenient to local amenities
Very convenient location and great for exploring the area since it's close by to many stores. The hotel is clean and neat the rooms are clean and needed as well. They have a large pool, fitness center and many other amenities. Staff is great to deal with very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We will definitely return- highly recommend this location.
Top 5 best hospitality experiences at a Hilton property. The staff was amazing. Angela was kind and accommodating for a room upgrade and checkout time. Diamond status does help, sometimes , but often it is not even mentioned. It was recognized here. I choose Hilton for a reason and this experience was proof of why I am extremely loyal to the brand. Thank you San Gabriel. I will be back. Also thank you for the cold water for my drive. - Jonathan
When you think of Hilton, you imagine sophistication, impeccable service, and respect. Sadly, my experience at Hilton San Gabriel was nothing short of a NIGHTMARE, and I feel compelled to share this here for unsuspecting travelers. I entered with simple needs. Breakfast and brief luggage storage. Simple, right? WRONG. The front desk, particularly the black woman, treated me like I was invisible, an annoyance she wished would disappear. My humble request is to store a few items temporarily met with a coldness that could rival the Arctic. But the real drama unfolded post-breakfast. Waving my luggage ticket, saying hello, and expecting—no, *hoping*—for the basic courtesy one expects from Hilton, I was met with a mocking "I'm here" and deliberate ignorance. It was like a cruel game where I was an unwilling participant. Shockingly, while seeking other staff, I found them lazily hidden behind a wall, blatantly ignoring guests. But the cherry on this disaster cake? Being threatened with security when all I yearned for was someone to attend to a basic request. I've never felt so belittled, humiliated, and angry in a hotel. This wasn’t Hilton; this was a twisted version where respect and service were thrown out the window. If this is Hilton San Gabriel's "service," then they can keep it. To the front desk team: your shocking indifference has caused genuine emotional distress. I swear I won’t return unless there's a drastic change. For potential guests reading this: be wary. You might just be the next protagonist in Hilton San Gabriel's theater of nightmares. EDIT Updated after Hilton's Response: I appreciate Hilton's response to my review, emphasizing their policy on not storing perishables. While I can respect rules and guidelines set by establishments, it's crucial to note that my grievance was NOT primarily about the policy itself. Instead, it was about the downright atrocious attitude I received from a particular staff member, the black woman at the front desk. Policies are there for a reason, but how they are communicated and enforced speaks volumes about the establishment. An explanation without condescension is basic customer service. The indifferent mockery I received from her was unacceptable. What's more distressing? Other staff members stood by like silent spectators, leaving me to navigate this alone. The core of my complaint lies in the human interaction or the shocking lack thereof I faced. It's a gentle reminder to Hilton San Gabriel that while policies are essential, compassion and basic decency are paramount.
My room was uncomfortably humid and would not cool below 72 degrees despite the thermostat being set lower. Bed was comfortable, and daily housekeeping is standard. Staff was polite and friendly. In a seemingly safe neighborhood.Rooms: 4/5
I have stayed in a lot to hotels and for some reason I had the best and most comfortable sleep in this hotel. Service was excellent. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. Location is fantastic and I would absolutely stay here again. Rooms: Comfortable and clean Nearby activities: Close to many restaurants and markets Walkability: There is a lot going on within 10 min of walking
