We are Hip Chick Farms and we make delicious frozen chicken products for your whole family!
We are a family business, run by partners Jen and Serafina. We started our business because Jen cooks for kids everyday, and they love the taste of her food. She makes amazing, homemade food with locally sourced, organic ingredients. We have such a passion for food and family, and have combined these loves to make our family friendly product line.
Jen has a real passion on for cooking and is a perfectionist in her kitchen. For the last twenty years, she was fortunate to work in amazing circumstances with great chefs and food revolutionaries, such as Alice Waters, while cooking at Chez Panisse for ten years. For the last ten years, Jen has had the privilege of serving as the Executive Private Chef for Ann & Gordon Getty. When Mrs. Getty started a Montessori school in her home, her role expanded to cooking a family style lunch for around 25 children every day. Her recipes are kid tested and mom approved!
We are really into the slow food and heritage food movements – which are basically a way of living and eating that connects the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment. We have spent months sourcing the highest quality, healthiest ingredients for our products by meeting with local farmers and undertaking extensive research about heritage chickens. We are constantly search for ways to make our products as delicious, sustainable and humane as possible. This is how we live, and we want to share this way of life with other families.
Our goal is to raise, process, and distribute our heritage chicken products and manage the process from beginning to end. There are no preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, or filler in our products, and by freezing them, we can ensure their quality and purity.
We have a two part mission at Hip Chick Farms. First, provide delicious, thoughtful, natural and nutritious chicken products for all members of the family. Our food is easy-to-cook and fun to eat and makes you feel good. Our products meet the quality standards of today's educated and busy consumers. Secondly, we want to build a business that models our values and reflects the beliefs of our family, including donating to the community and raising awareness about humanely farmed animals.
