The Historic Sheridan Inn. 856 Broadway Street Sheridan, WY
The complete restoration and renovation of the Sheridan Inn, a National Historic Landmark, is nearing completion. Work on the re-adaptive use of the second and third floors continues with each donation, gift and grant for that purpose. The Sheridan Heritage Center *The Keepers of the Inn* are moving full-steam ahead on the Campaign to Restore the Sheridan Inn, and are in the “re-adaptive use, final phase” of the renovation and restoration enabling the Inn to be self-sustaining.
To date well over $4.5 M has been raised and invested into this unbelievably awesome undertaking, building on the rescue efforts, investment and work of the last few decades by notables such as Neltje Kings, a Joint Powers Board, the City and County of Sheridan, corporate donors, foundations, and hundreds of volunteers & donors, large and small.
Thanks to this generosity the two fully renovated and restored prototype guest rooms, elevator landing, and hallway reflect the theme, the quality, and the integrity that are the hallmark of each step taken toward making the Grand Ole’ Girl the “Inn” place to stay.
In October 2012, the Inn closed due to financial setbacks. Nearly a year after the Inn's doors closed, Bob and Dana Townsend purchased the Inn with the goal of re-opening the historic building and completing construction on the upper floors.
