The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway was founded in 1972 as a 501c3 non-profit organization to operate historic train rides along the Hocking River Valley. The HVSR owns and operates 12 miles of the former Chesapeake & Ohio Hocking Division, which was once part of the original Hocking Valley Railway (1865-1930). We are managed and operated by an all-volunteer crew. The funds we acquire go right back into the railroad primarily via track and equipment maintenance, and restoration projects.
