I will have an age appropriate curriculum set up to benefit each age group. Each week we will have a different theme to help your children stay engaged in their learning and also gain a wide educational understanding of the world.
Curriculum Focus:
Language skills
Baby and toddlers will develop language skills through sign language
Letter and Number recognitions (each week we will have a “letter and “number of the week)
Gross Motor skills
Fine motor skills will mostly be developed through craft time where the children are encouraged to be creative and think outside of the box. Each day there will be a craft geared around the “Theme of the Week”.
Large motor skills will mostly be developed through free play and games where children will be able explore by climbing on soft form play centers and learning how their body works
Sensory play: this is a fun time for children to take some time to learn about their surrounding and what everything feels like. Children will learn more about their senses by exploring through the sand and water table’s and digging in the bucket of rice.
Social skills
Children will automatically develop some social just by being around other kids but at Hodges Home Daycare there is a strong emphasis on respecting each other and using good manner. Children will be encouraged to us please and thank you and to respect their friends and surroundings.
With such a small number of children we will be able to take field trips (which are included in your rate) to story time, the science center, the park, etc.
Parents are open to stopping in at any time throughout the day and I have a room comfortable for nursing mothers to stop in to feed their children on their break.
