Wonderful and well-appointed hotel. My floor was decorated with lots of crumbs and my bed had a nice ergonomic slope in the middle which were very thoughtful additions. I’d thought I’d stayed at awful hotels but this holiday inn certainly outdid them all in nearly every regard. Thank you holiday inn for my three sleepless nights. Also i was apparently charged twice for the same stay. I’d already booked but they wouldn’t let me check in because I was “late” so I paid for the same room again. They also wouldn’t let me book a room at the front desk - I had to buy the room through an online service. Adding to this an expensive pair of sunglasses disappeared during my stay which made me a bit sad. I’d like to say there was a positive to my stay at this hotel and there was — it ended! I wouldn’t stay at this hotel if it were free and they provided unlimited free steak dinners, vintage wines, massages and black car service.
I had a very nice experience during my two day stay. The location is in a fantastic place. The hotel itself is a bit dated as it has been around for almost 50 years! However, front desk staff Mimi had such a great disposition and was absolutely accommodating with everything. Salute to her and my stay. I will be back! Walkability: Great shops and walking ‍ in the area.
I spent three nights here with my family while visiting DC. I chose this hotel for affordability and location. It’s close to a Metro stop in a safe neighborhood with lots of dining options. This is an old hotel desperately in need of a refresh. It’s aesthetically in disrepair and could use some modern upgrades. This was off putting at first, but the hotel was very clean and functional. The beds were not the greatest but not terrible, good pillows, clean soft linens. The pool was nice but the pool chairs need to be replaced and I had to ask for towels. But the staff was pleasant and helpful. At the front desk, Mimi was particularly gracious and helpful. She gave me good local advice and was very friendly. Friendly people at the front desk go a long way towards making a good stay. I’ll consider staying here again next time we’re visiting DC.
My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and were very disappointed by the “service” and “hospitality” factors of our stay. The breakfast factor has been done away with, you must BUY water at the front desk, and we were treated a little rudely at the front desk. On the other hand, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room had great air conditioning. Also, beware because parking at the hotel is $18 a night.
Yes the rooms may be a little dated but this is a solid hotel located in a very convenient area. The rooms were very clean and the shower had amazing water pressure with super hot water. Less than a 10 minute walk to the Metro gave my family easy access to the Capital. My only knock on this hotel would be I was disappointed breakfast wasn't included, I've not stayed at a hotel in years without free breakfast. Even though the room was very affordable, breakfast in this area is very expensive so budget that into your trip.
Went here for a school trip, there was at least one thing wrong with every room on the 5th floor. The eggs given to us for breakfast was horrible, they where way to wet. The waffles on the first day tasted sad. the coffee was like tart water. The showers kept fluctuating between hot and cold water. overall, hotel was just eh.Rooms: 2/5
