I have been to many holiday Inn Express in the past. However, this location was a lower quality than my normal expectation. I believe the room was listed around $200 which is a bit higher than the averageconsidering recent inflation but I wanted to make sure I enjoy my vacation in a good quality hotel. So I booked two nights. The room was ok. One of the bed sheet had a blood stain on it. We changed the sheet but it was not pleasant to begin with. Shower head was terrible but hot water was running, thank goodness. The ac worked. The breakfast was alright. No potatoes or yogurt. The only good thing about the breakfast was pancakes. The front desk service was alright but maybe not average. No smile or customer service. Straight to the business. There was a fire alarm test that they didn't tell us. My kids got scared because the alarm went off randomly and I had to go to the front desk to find out and my wife was taking a bath. They said they will come anytime within an hour without any consideration of their guests. I asked them to call us before they come in but nope. They will come in to check the alarm... What kind of customer service is that? I didn't argue with them but it really showed their level of customer service. Overall, not a good experience and I will not come back.
Booked here during our travels through Barrie. We weren’t expecting to spend the night here so we didn’t have anything booked until we were on our way. They had rooms available and check in was a breeze. We opted for a king suite so our son could have his own space & it was perfect. The room was clean & had all the necessities we needed. This was the first holiday inn we stayed at in a while where the ice machines were working so that was great We got in late and checked out early so we didn’t take advantage of the amenities too much. They do offer a complimentary breakfast however it was pretty awful. I’m not one to complain about free food at all but we ended up just having breakfast some place else. Perhaps it was an off day, which happens. The bacon was so over cooked it just fell apart when you touched it. You could hardly grab a full piece to put it on your plate. There were also no potato/hashbrown options. Which is the only thing my son would have eaten. So not sure if that’s how it usually is there. But it was a bit of a disappointment. Other then that our stay was great. Hotel was quiet, easy to get to & offered lots of free parking.
hotel to pass itself off as first-class and doesn't even have parking on site, walking down the street from where your car is parked back to the hotel in the rain. By the way Holiday Inn Great safety practice having women walk at night to find their car off site parking lots and have to pay $20 parking fees 2 bocks away. But you did allow to leave luggage in the lobby while I wander down the street to park.Not that anybody was looking after unattended luggage when I returned,
I was there with a school group. Some kids were trying to make a nuisance of themselves, but the staff was very helpful to help us identify the offenders and make the situation better for everyone the next night. As for the hotel amenities they were great and able to handle a group of 30+ without a problem. The beds were very comfortable.
