Tom has 23 years of legal experience and is licensed in South Carolina and Virginia. Since 2011, Tom has focused primarily on Family Law matters such as divorce, child custody and visitation, dividing marital property and debts and adoptions. Tom has completed training in collaborative divorce and has been certified by the International Association of Collaborative Professionals.
Tom Holland graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1994. He became a member of the Virginia Bar in 1994 followed by membership in the South Carolina Bar in 1996. Since earning his law degree, Tom served as General Counsel for American Pensions, Inc., a third party record keeping firm for qualified retirement plans. Following his stint in the corporate world, Tom began a career in law enforcement as a prosecutor and later as General Counsel for the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. During his time as a Prosecutor and his work with law enforcement, Tom gained extensive trial experience in the prosecution of all levels of Adult and Juvenile crimes. Tom was also cross designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney during his tenure with the Sixth Circuit Solicitor's Office. Tom also authored and received several Federal Justice Assistance Grants including grants funding a violent crime prosecution team and the establishment and equipping of a Crime Scene Investigations Unit.
In addition to his legal practice, Tom has also been an adjunct professor for the University of South Carolina Lancaster since 2011. He teaches a variety of criminal law and business law classes.
