We had a pool/spa built by Holland as part of our house build, and I would not use Holland again or recommend them. It was a bad experience, the build quality is poor, communication was terrible, and attempts to reach them to resolve outstanding issues go unanswered. In fact, we have engaged another contractor to fix issues that remain. Do yourself a favor and find another pool contractor. UPDATE: Since posting the original review, Holland has reached out to me and resolved all my open issues. While it's too bad I had to resort to the original view in order to get their attention, I am pleased with the speedy resolution. I guess I just had to get the attention of the right person.Services: Inground pool installation
The experience with Holland has been an absolute nightmare. We built the house to include a pool last spring and the builder used Holland. We discovered in the fall when the temperature cooled off that the heater did not work. After dozens of phone calls and multiple vendors coming to the house, we still have no heater. Holland said there was nothing more they could do and I should call Jandy myself. After calling Jandy, I was told to call one of their authorized warranty vendors and they should be able to resolve the issues. Kamikazee is coming out Monday. Fingers crossed we will have a working heater soon.
STAY AWAY! The management of this company Illustrates factual, and proven GROSS NEGLECT, and behavior that is at best described as deceptive: manipulative, unethical, and untruthful, irrespective of the poor quality and service related to the pool over the past 11 months. This management team takes or accepts no responsibility for their "bad deeds" in fact: 100% of the time in our 11 months "THEY BLAME" others for their overt GROSS NEGLECT and "problems" including their own vendors and me, the homeowner. By way of background: we built a new home, with a pool/spa designed & build by Holland Pools at a cost of approx. $113, 000 in August of 2021. In just 11 months, below I have outlined just 3 "major quality issues" we have experienced: The below illustrates Holland's proven GROSS NEGLECT, BLAME oriented and deceptive behavior: 1. The pool has had a leak for over 10 months, after 3 evaluations by "their" leak detection company, that found no leaks: I, the homeowner had to finally show them where the leak was I used a simply process of elimination to identify the location. Finally another leak detection group found the leak exactly where I had identified it. On the previous 2 leak detection attempts Holland management BLAMED their leak detection company. During this 10 months Holland refused to believe the pool has a leak despite the fact that I showed them "water usage" documentation from a civil engineer! 2. The pool was designed with a heater to heat the pool and spa during the cold season cost $12,000 When the weather turned colder 3 months after delivery of the pool the homeowners attempts to turn on the heater to use the pool, only to learn that the heater had never been connected to the gas line? Again another proven and documented example of GROSS NEGLECT. This time Holland management BLAMED the home builder and to get the issue resolved the homeowner had to coordinate with the homebuilder to FINALLY get the heater "connected". Subsequently only to have "the flow function" of the heater not work correctly. FINALLY in May when you do do not need pool heat some 9 months from pool startup was the issue resolved: Not by Holland but by the homeowners coordination and efforts. 3. The pool has a dark floor and multi-color glass tile finish: due to the leak that existing for 10 months, the tile and flooring has significant calcium build-up. due to the fact with all the "fresh water" required to replenish the water level: one simply cannot add chemicals fast enough or timely enough to "balance the water. Upon finally fixing the leak Holland BLAMED the pool maintenance vendor and again the homeowner for their quality and service problems, even after Hollands own technicians committed to us that Holland would remediate the tile! Holland management BLAMED their own service technicians by telling us Holland would remediate the tile. As such the homeowner had to spend the money and time to remediate the tile due to Holland's GROSS NEGLECT. Again these are just 3 of the major issues there are a total of 22 additional items thus far have taken an average of 73 days to resolve that factually illustrate how NEGLECT AND UNETHICAL the management of Holland is. It should be noted that we as homeowners are not "rookie" pool owners: we have owned pool for over 20 years!Services: Spa & hot tub installation
Purchased pool through builder from Holland and there have been several major issues. The pool for the most part is beautifully, but be careful and verify all information is correct, specifically verify that the names of the color choices match what is expected as the document signed may have very poor quality photos used. This issue lead to approving the wrong color pavers as the photo seemed to be correct but the color written on the page was not a color I had ever considered and clashed with the house color. The controller for the salt ionizer was not available prior to closing on the house but was left at my house a month later with a promise that the electrician would come by to install. A month and a half later no electrician and multiple attempts to contact the company have so far resulted in only more promises to get it scheduled.
