A movie showing in a cemetery? Why not?! This is so LA! Recommend getting here early because Melrose gets pretty packed as the show starts. You're able to bring a low chair and your own picnic to enjoy too. They also allow you to bring beer and wine as well! However, if you forget or don't feel like packing they also sell snacks and drinks there. Bring a blanket and a mat to rest on and enjoy the show!
Such a Fun Venue. Bring a picnic Dinner & COCKtails & an extra Blanket as it gets a Lil cold after dark.
Bring picnic supplies and someone to cuddle with and it’s perfect, as long as you’re okay with not having a perfect view of the screen.
What a cool idea and event. Lots of people so do go as early as possible to get a good spot. Bring lots of stuff to be comfortable both on the grass and food/drink wise. Also recommend a chair or at least something that can hold your back upright. They have lots of toilets. At the end of the screening there’s music for dancing. Really cool.
Best LA experience!! Great atmosphere, great vibe, great sound. The perfect way to spend a Saturday night in LA
If you don't like crowds, this might not be for you. But this is one of the best experiences! They show movies in the Hollywood Cemetery! Get there early early early!!! even if you are far back, try to sit in the center/middle. Bring more blankets than you think you need...CA gets cold at night. You can bring all the food and drinks you want so bring a feast! Make sure to get pillows or some type of low chair so you are comfy for the entire movie.
I would've loved the whole experience if it wasn't for these flying brown insects swarming all over the place. My girlfriend could not watch the movie in peace and pretty much ruined it for her. I personally don't mind bugs but there was so many that kept buzzing around us that it had me on guard throughout the whole movie. It's because of that I didn't give this five stars and it's a shame they don't accept Mastercards.
We’re from way out of town. Planned a birthday trip to see a movie at the cemetery. Last minute, they changed the location to a random park 30 minutes away after trying to find parking and walking to the destination. I checked the location a mere 3 hours prior and it was the same. So now we don’t get to see the movie we paid for and no refunds after it was last minute changed to a different location. Beyond disappointed.
If you haven't attended a Cinespia movie screening at Hollywood Forever cemetery, you're missing out. I go every chance I get. If you're looking for fun screenings of cult movies/classic movies, themed photo sets, bring your own food/alcohol, this is the event for you.
I love coming here every summer to watch my favorite movies. We bring our own low chairs and blankets, food and beer.. They keep you separated from those that have chairs and those that perfer lay on their blankets. I usually get there 2 hours before they open the gates and just wait in line. It's a small walk from the front entrance to behind the cemetery where the grassy area is located. They have potable toilets here. You can buy popcorn and drinks from the food stand. I've been coming here for 3 years now. Never a disappointment so far. Oh and I can't forget to mention the dj's that are playing the music while you're sitting and eating before the movie starts. I have enjoyed listening to the D j's playing their music.
