This place is AWESOME! The museum is 4 floors and has a lot to see! It has a history of Hollywood, Transformers cars, Super-friends memorabilia and more! There was no wait to get in and the staff is friendly and eager to answer your questions. At the time of this review we paid $15 per person to enter. Depending on your time you could go through the museum in 30-45 minutes but for true fans you could spend hours there. My only question is: how did they get the cars in there? This is a must check out in the Hollywood walk of fame.
If you love movies, this is the place for you. $12.00 for students and seniors. $15.00 for adults. There is parking at Mel's Diner, which is attached to the museum, not sure how much parking there is we parked across the street at the Hollywood and Highland mall. We ate at Mel's Diner and got a discount at the museum when we showed our receipt. The main floor is a walk through the history of Max Factor, make up creator, and make-up artists to Hollywood starlets such as Lucille Ball, Judy Garland, and Marilyn Monroe. The basement is filled with monsters past and present. 2 upper levels have more television, music, and movie exhibits. Movies and television clips play within the displays. From Universal monsters, to Peniwise the clown. From Marilyn Monroe to Angelina Joile. From silent movie leading men Rudolph Valentino to Brad Pitt. There was so much to see we went two weekends just to see it all.
For movie fans! Right in the middle of all the action in Hollywood on Highland. Fun museum with movie props from the early days of Hollywood to today. They got items from movies like Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Star Wars, horror movies and golden age like Lucy and Max Factor. Price is not expensive. Probably takes about an hour to see the whole museum.
This place was SO COOL!!! It's way bigger inside than you would think it is, they have a bunch of different sections, and even a bunch of information on the old Max Factor building it occupies. If you're a Ghostbusters fan you HAVE to go, they have a ton of screen used props including the toaster! The Back to the Future stuff was great too! There's a horror movie basement tht was kind of spooky and a Waltons exhibition that was kool to see! I HIGHLY recommend, amazing entertainment value for the price, cool staff, Mel's diner is attached if you wanna make an afternoon of it! I'll deff be back!
This place is a really cool mix of old and newer still mostly 20th century hollywood. I liked how the building itself was an active part of movie making back in the day.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
The most comprehensive collection of Hollywood artifacts!.. All original costumes, makeup cases and did not expect the old movie horror dungeons below! One of the best museums I've been to. Front desk lady very helpful, friendly and the experience is well worth the $15 entry. Highly recommend.
Very exciting!!! Especially, BTF!! It's 4 stories. If you're not good at being scared, don't go downstairs.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
This was awesome! So much history and great exhibits. I took so many pictures. I loved it! One of the best parts of my trip to Hollywood hands down. There were several special exhibits when I was there. There is also a special section for horror films, clasic oldies to modern. It is a self directed tour so you can stay as long as you want and can go back to things you've seen and look again. After your time there, if you exit to the left you'll walk into Mel's Diner, a quaint little 50s style diner. Food was good and the place is cute. The Hollywood Museum is definitely an attraction not to be missed!
Staff were friendly and engaging some interesting displays and a great mix of original/screen used costumes and accurate replicas
