Popular hiking destination in Orange County
Holy Jim Falls is a 20-foot waterfall in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains of Orange County, CA. It can be reached with a moderate, 3-mile round trip hike through a forest of oaks, alders and maples. The canyon and waterfall are named after "Cussin'" Jim Smith, a bee-keeper who lived in the area long ago, and who was apparently infamous for his use of profanity. Map-makers renamed the area Holy Jim, and the site remains one of Orange County's most popular hiking destinations.
