Accredited by both the New Jersey Board of Nursing and the National League of Nursing Accreditation Corporation (NLNAC), the School of Nursing has grown since its inception to become one of the largest diploma schools in New Jersey.
The Holy Name Medical Center School of Nursing (HNMCSON)supports an educational program and organized learning process by which a person can assimilate knowledge, develop skills, establish values, and realize potential. To obtain this end, the role of the School of Nursing is to provide the curriculum, program objectives, competencies, environment, and program design to assist the student in obtaining the requisite knowledge and skill to provide holistic care to the client within the ethics of the profession of nursing. HNMCSON provides a unique nursing education that offers humanitarian practice and oriented discipline whose central purpose is to assist individuals and their families with their health-related self-care requisites throughout the life cycle.
Our mission, in harmony with the philosophy of the Medical Center is to promote respect for the worth and uniqueness of the individual learner; to foster the individual in a search for peace, justice, and moral values; to enhance the student’s appreciation of the dignity, individuality, and spiritual dimension of mankind; and to create and maintain an environment in which the development of each student as a person and professional can take place.
