I've been using Harvest to Home about six months. This was my anniversary present which I absolutely love and enjoy each day. My garden flourishes, but patience is also required. They do a wonderful job taking care of the garden. I just had an abundance of fresh herbs which I shared with many friends. Such a simple, pure joy.
I hired Harvest to Home some months back to takeover my garden which me and my roommate tried and failed with! They changed the soil and did their thing, they come out each week to do maintenance. Perry our maintenance guy has been great! Super nice, listens, let’s us know when he’s coming, best of all we are actually growing food!!!
Harvest to Home has been nothing short of awesome from assessing yard for sunlight, water access, execution, education and follow up. I have a large garden box that produced brocolli, cauliflower, kale, various greens, and peas in first season. Second season is looking great with squash flowers abundant, and young gherkins. My berry barrel is overflowing with berries , green and lush. Citrus trees are healthy and will be producing fruit soon. The weekly service has been outstanding in maintaining, but also for the education that Rob provides. Rob has provided me with so much information, and goes the extra mile to listen to my needs and make suggestions to fit my health and lifestyle. Highly recommend Harvest to Home!!
Everyone seems very happy with Harvest to Home. I wish I could give a good review as well as it would mean I haven’t lost my time and money. I contacted Harvest to Home after I had seen their truck parked in my neighborhood. My first meeting with Caity Chandler was very friendly and she gave me a quote for our project. It was pretty pricy, but I really wanted a veggie garden. We agreed on some planters to be built, and then for a maintenance of the garden every other week. Then came the building of the wooden planters which happened to be quite an adventure. It was the first time that Harvest to Home used the subcontractors who did the job. You would think that someone from the company would eventually show up at one point, to make sure that it was going well, especially with a new partnership. Well no one showed up and the job ended up not being done the way it was supposed to, resulting into staining my facade wall. First disappointment. But hey, it’s cool, they told me that they had lost the previous guy who used to work for them, and that those new ones were not great, that they had done a sloppy work as well at another customer’s, and that they were sorry for the inconvenience. Then came the irrigation problem... yes, my first plants died of thirst. It seemed that the irrigation was not working well. On that issue, the maintenant manager came and helped the irrigation guy to fix it. There was extra money involved but no big deal, I was eager to finally get my garden started and going. After a few weeks plants started to grow, lots of salads, and kale. We had constant fighting with snails, they ended up wining some fights, and as a result we never had sweet peppers. Basil kept dying, As the salads were eaten either by us or the snails, I mentioned that it was a lot of salads and that I’d love other veggies instead. I got a few beans in one planter, nothing in the other, I don’t know why. Early July, tomatoes started to show, zucchini and cucumber plants were giving veggies. We were happy, feeling rewarded for all that time and money invested. Then I left for a trip. I told my neighbor that she could come and pick some veggies while I was gone. Which she happily did! Right before my returning, she was excited to tell me that I had ripe tomatoes coming, as well as cucumbers. So I was very surprised to find my planters empty of any plants when I arrived mid August. They had simply been pulled out while they were fully producing, because there was some « powdery mildew » on their leaves I was told. That being said, maybe we don’t care that much about the leaves as long as we get nice and good veggies... and if they really had to be removed, why not plant some replacement right away? Nope I had to wait 2 more weeks to have new babies that are not likely to give any veggies for at least one more month maybe more as they are really small plants. So if I evaluate the overall experience, here it is: * Paid - $3000 for installation - $215 per month for maintenance * Harvested - 4 pounds of tomatoes - 6 pounds of zucchinis - 2 pounds of cucumbers - 1.5 pounds of beans - a dozen of green salads - a couple of kale - 5 strawberries - parsley - some basil - chives I’m not sure what’s it’s worth, but I would not call it a good deal. I did not put one star only because I can tell that they feel sorry most of the time, so 2 stars... but I would have appreciated that someone from the management would come and see by themselves as I kept communicating through emails, sending photos to actually show the issues. I really wanted it to work, and I wish I was one of the happy customers. * Update today September 5th: Mike, the owner whom I had never met before paid a visit. He was nice, brought some veggies, and assessed the situation. He then promised things will get better. So I am upgrading from 2 stars to 3 for now, and see how it goes in the future
I’ve been driving past this place for a little of a year to&from work. Today I finally had a chance to stop in and check out their showroom. My boyfriend and I, have been talking about growing seasonal veggies. But, neither of us has a green thumb!! I was first approached by caity, who was very knowledgeable and helpful!! She even showed me their beautiful garden out back which was full of seasonal veggies growing and she even gave me a few tomatoes to take home. Caity provided me with a lot of great information that I will be showing my boyfriend for us to schedule a consultation for our first home garden! Great idea anyone interested in growing a garden!
I’m a big fan of this company. I’m not currently using them but the owner, Mike, has been really gracious in helping me select fruit trees and exposing me to fruit that I did t even know existed.
