Home Instead has been providing in-home assisted care for my mother since June 2022. The caregivers are friendly, professional, and compassionate. We have been very satisfied with the service they provide. Mom loves her caregiver!
Since 2018, Home Instead has provided my home health care. Disability came fast and hard. We had already talked with multiple care agencies serving our area. It impressed us when their Care Manager was willing to come to our home, and personally interview us rather than talk over the phone. We were impressed with her, the services Home Instead offered, and the level of training they gave to all their caregivers and office staff. We were told that when hiring, they looked for those who had a genuine caring heart for the people they would serve, not just skills. After their evaluation, any basic or supplemental skills training would be given. The Care Manager answered all our questions, and showed us what they had to offer to fill in around our existing family care. We had no problem choosing Home Instead. Every person, from office staff to my personal caregiver, has been a tremendous help. We have nothing but high praise for Home Instead's integrity, and we have never regretted our choice.
I had a very bad experience with this company. I have more than 15 years of experience in the field & this is by far the worse agency I’ve ever worked for. I was misled in the interview about clients being local. They in fact don’t have clients in Sacramento which is where I reside. The pay is very low. You will get entry level pay regardless of your experience. The company only offers clients for the Auburn, Lincoln, or Grass Valley areas. I did not receive a company polo until after a month of employment. You will have to call the manager to clock in and out, as the app doesn’t allow you to utilize that feature. Management was very rude to me quite often. I would very often be accused of lying about being about my clients house when I would call to clock in. Never directly, of course, very indirect. Showed up to my last shift in Lincoln and stood outside the facility for 20min waiting to be let in. Leta accused me of lying about being on-site. I had to send a picture to prove I was in fact at work waiting to be let in.
AWESOME Complete caregivers! Professional, Compassionate, Knowledgeable. Management team is attentive, communicative, professional, adapting to the need of the customer. Caregivers have been most professional, attentive, caring, adapting to needs! We required care 24/7, NO negative issues, always a great experience under the circumstances! We have experienced 4 caregiver agencies, Honor- Home Instead has been head & shoulders above the rest! KUDOS!!
Our entire family is so grateful that my 94 year old mom has Cathy Flowers as her caregiver. My mom is still very active and full of life. Her health and vitality are very important to all of us and especially now that we cannot be with her. Cathy provides healthy meals, friendship and a connection to the outside world. My mom loves to share her stories and Cathy is a caring listener. We are also thankful that Cathy is there to keep her safe and is able to help with errands and personal needs.
Home Instead has been truly wonderful to work for. They care about not only the client and family, but the caregiver as well and you can't say that all the time with other companies. Being a caregiver with Home Instead helped me realize that I want to become a nurse. They have been nothing but supportive and encouraging as I pursue a degree. I feel blessed to work for such a caring company.
I lovingly recommend Home Instead Senior Care for those in need of care. From administration to caregivers the care and attention my mother and my family received was exceptional. My mother’s caregiver Michell F was professional and kind. Showing my mother compassion and dignity she quickly became like part of our family. Home Instead provided my family great comfort in our time of need.
My heart is filled with gratitude for Home Instead. They took excellent care of my aunt. Her care coordinator and care givers were exceptional. I cannot say enough positive things about their entire staff. I live in Alabama as do both my sisters. It was hard for us to visit with my aunt as often as we would have liked. Home Instead provided her with an alternate family. I especially feel indebted to Jenn, Lai, and Sam. You cared. You gave her what she needed. I’ll always remember. You guys are the best!

From my very first contact at Home Instead, I was so impressed with the compassion and concern my family and I were shown. After calling, I was transferred to Teri, who sincerely expressed her sympathy for what our family was going through. She set up a meeting with a care coordinator for that afternoon while my dad was still in the hospital. Katie arrived less than an hour later, went through some options, and said she had someone in mind that she thought would be perfect for us. She couldn't have been more kind. My father, who suffered from dementia, had a massive stroke and would be leaving the hospital and put on hospice at home. We asked for a care giver that could be with him from 8 pm-8 am until he passed. When Pedro arrived that evening, we immediately felt comfortable and at ease with him. He said hello, but then went to my dad's bedside and took his hand. He spoke gently to him, and my dad responded one of this final interactions. Pedro was amazing! My step-mom was so confident with his care, she was able to get a full night's sleep for the first time in 5 days. Pedro cared for my dad over the next 4 nights, and was holding my dad's hand when he breathed his final breath. My family was so impressed with the entire team at Home Instead. We could not be more thankful for the compassion and care they provided to us during the most difficult time. We truly will be forever grateful. Jan Henry
