I love this place! But you need to understand the nice stuff coming and going very fast. So some days you can come and it's nothing for you to pick. We were using this store to decorate our two fully furnished condos. And I bought 11nice quality rugs for our house. Almost all our pictures come from this store. The best things is if you're not experienced with decoration you can buy , try and bring stuff back. That is how we learned how to decorate and find out what style do we like. Of course it takes time. But we learned a lot!
We’ve been looking to outfit our living room with rugs and pillows and accessories. We have not been successful until we arrived at the Olney, MD HomeGoods. Not only did we get pillows and a rug, but a nice glider - swivel chair. More importantly, we want to complement Juan! who was the coordinator who put the rug in our car and then again put the chair in when we returned later in the same day. He is very efficient and careful and I think he deserves our praise and HomeGood’s praise!
I absolutely love HomeGoods. You can find so many cute gift ideas and amazing things for the home. Team members are always so professional and helpful.
It's a busy place and it's a treasure hunt... but if you need a little gift, go here. If you buy furniture or lamps, look carefully. I find the quality isn't matching the price for a discount place like this. As with any Home Goods. If you see something you like, don't leave it there... buy it, as it's unlikely you'll find it if you leave and go back. I got a great deal on a wine fridge ages ago. I also got a cool stool/plant shelf made from a tree that was finished beautifully. I've gotten tableware and pots and pans for my son's first apartment and a HUGE stockpot with lid at a great price. Not to mention some barware and Moscow Mule copper cups. Although I've found many things there, I don't think our Olney store gets as nice of a selection in terms of lamps and some other things. That being said, they still have a lot that fills a need for the community. The checkout staff has always been friendly. If you buy something fragile, they'll wrap it in paper...if they don't, ask them to do it.
Amazing prices. The checkout line moved every quickly and the employees are very polite. It is sometimes difficult to move in the isles because people leave merchandise in the middle of them. But otherwise great store
I have an outstanding complaint and it's been two months and I have not heard from Corporate Office. I am really disappointed that I had to go into the store and seek out the store manager, who was very helpful. However, I was left hanging with no phone call or email from anyone. This is very unprofessional and shows a lack of caring for your customers. As you remember, my kids were thrown out of the store for no reason by someone who was profiling them. They made one mistake and was thrown out. It was very traumatic for them and because they had never been in a situation, they took it very hard.. I assume because we did not seek further damages, this situation was pushed under the rug. I am really disappointed,
Wide selection of decor.
Hands down my fav decor store and so much more!
I was there 9-30-22 around 3 pm .as I was coming out of the bathroom ,a young woman was rushing into womens bath , she pushed past another female pushing her to the wall. I said to the pushed woman , ,that was rude. Later I was approached by management I guess he asked was I ok ,, I replied yes ,why? He said that a lady had made a comment that I had said something to her about her being rude. I explained what had happened .Just goes to show , how miscommunication , and accusations , can cause a world of trouble. I later saw the same girl , at the building I live in . MMMMM thats very strange .This is not the first time I have been approa ched in this store , concerning something someone has said . A friend that was with me on another occasion was approached in a strange manner. When the friend of mine came back from the bathroom , he was so upset , he put back what we were going to buy, and abruptly said lets go . We left the store , and he has never been back. There is a woman that works at the CVS across the street , that has caused myself , and the same friend some disturbance. Seems around that area. I might add , that the manager who spoke to me , was in fact , pleasant. The overall store is good , love to go to look at the seasonal items .I had had a nice experience . It was nice to talk with other customers. Seems that area , has a stalking problem . .next time I will ask for police assistance.To many times other customers ruin a pleasant day all because they just want to cause trouble. The woman that said I had said she was rude , did,nt even understand what had been said . It now is kind of a shame that the woman that pushed her , did,nt knock her down ,and step on her.I guess some people just like causing trouble , or just need attention. Even if its negative attention!
Albeit a little crowded as space small, best location. They have a lot of items compared to other locations. Staff very helpful and that made this location attractive. It is organized well.
