One of the better hotels around. They've upgraded many of their rooms. They are large, spacious and clean. I really liked the fans above the bed. The only thing I'd like to see is more plush furniture. Their couches and chairs are hard as a rock. There were smells in the hallways from trash and construction. The hotel provides a 10% discount to the restaurant next door by showing your hotel key which is a nice incentive.
Absolutely horrible! Most definitely not up to Hilton Standards. And no offense but anyone who rated this hotel five stars my question to you would be are you Absolutely blind? Or either its an inside job to boost their own ratings, tear it down and rebuild I was embarrassed at what I payed for this roach motel I stayed at holiday inns way more sanitized and clean than this dump my gosh I definitely should of done my research on this place definitely not a racist bone in my body but I prefer not to rent from excise me if I'm ignorant but Indian owners here where I live never maintain their properties and they all have the same smell trash this place Hilton come investigate this dump shut it down its a stain on the brand for sure!!!! Sorry had to vent was trying to do something different before my kids go back to school and just a horrible experience we checked out early and went to top golf but this place is a world class dump and the breakfast was garbage as well! Safety: This place is a health hazard and how long does it take for the deposit to come back???
I travel frequently and have enjoyed staying at many Hilton brands. Homewood suites has always been one of my favorites. Honestly I have had only positive experiences. I’m pretty easy going and easily overlook slight issues and rarely leave reviews. I do honestly regret not checking the reviews before booking this stay. I’m thankful it is just a quick overnight stay. I booked it because I have an early flight and really that is the only upside. This is very subpar for the brand and after reading several reviews, it is clear that none of the issues have been addressed properly. The front desk clerk was nice enough but seemed to have an outdated system that didn’t allow her to properly greet and prepare for guests. I am a gold member but I wasn’t given a water and will not be having breakfast as I will be in the air before it starts. The issues with smells and cleanliness are pretty bad. The room was rather dated and unclean. It made me very uncomfortable I found hairs on surfaces and splatter in the kitchen. The bathroom was crumbling. The reason I use Hilton is to avoid this kind of issue. I’m really disappointed at this location and that it has clearly gone on so long. Also to reference a previous review, the nearby Walmart is awful.
We got one of the renovated rooms. It was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Fridge, freezer, 2 burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, cutlery, pots, pans and a sink. Perfect for people with food allergies that need to make their own meals. It's very close to the airport, approximately 6 minutes away. Per the hotel, you need call them to schedule shuttle service to and from the airport. Shuttle service stops at 1am.
I was a little Skeptical at first based upon the reviews of this hotel, but staying here for a week I’ll have to say this hotel is very nice and they are not playing with these Renovations, they are working fast and hard to update this hotel. Clearly they listen to their customers and care about your experience. Highly recommend if you’re ever visiting Richmond or Sandstone area. And also they do not play about their breakfast. Their breakfast is top-tier, being pet, friendly was an added plus. We stayed in room 104 and our room was not renovated and the room was nice. I don’t see anything wrong with the room for the price. The only thing I could say, is maybe change out the bedding for a heavier blanket but that’s the only thing I could think of that’s wrong with this place definitely recommend
One of the nastiest hotel we have ever been to. In all honesty it would be better if they shut down until they renovate completely. One can overlook the ridiculously outdated and broken furniture, doors off the hinges and even the spider in the tub, but the whole place looks like it has not been cleaned since the 80’s. We couldn’t wait to check out of this $20 motel look alike. Room 101
The staff from front desk to kitchen to cleaners and maintenance! are kind and helpful. The breakfast is exceptional with many fresh details. The handicap bathroom and on-site laundry were helpful to clean out a soiled car seat. If these elements reflect on the future beauty of their renovations, the hotel is bound for greatness!Rooms: 5/5
Find another hotel until this one is renovated. Hilton should be embarrassed. I booked due to location near the airport for a 6 am flight and the option for sofa bed. There are other options for +/-$20, choose one of those. Price does not match the condition of the room. Exterior and lobby are nice. Got to the elevator and the floor was so sticky my shoes stuck and my feet pulled out of them. The room looks like 1984. Needs basic updates & repair. Drywall and paint are damaged. Carpet was worn, sticky, had tar/gum stuck to it. Didn't look vacuumed. Bathroom the wallpaper was holding the drywall in place barely. Tub was stained, had mold and did not look clean, we did not use. I continued my 8 hour stay only because the sheets looked clean. But the sofa bed was filthy when we pulled it out for my son. He slept on top of extra blankets. Disgusting experience.
For $181.00 a night, this Hilton hotel was definitely not up to typical Hilton standards. The room was not cleaned well, the decor has not been changed since likely 1980. The floors were grimy feeling, there was hair in the shower, it smelled bad, the bed was noticeably sunken in the middle and raised on the sides, the vents looked as though they were not cleaned since 1980 as well. Carpet was ripped by the bathroom. Weirdly, the roll of tissue in the bathroom was almost completely used upon check-in. Water damage in walls and ceiling. The breakfast was okay, although oddly no trash can near the breakfast area itself, you had to walk across the room to the one trash can under the television set, which wouldn’t be so bad - unless you are holding a dripping waffle paper cup. The lobby area was also lacking a garbage can, the lady behind the desk had to take my garbage to throw away behind the counter. The only positives at this location was that we didn’t get bed bugs and the front desk staff was very nice. Better, cleaner options nearby, this isn’t up to Hilton standards.
My husband and I are frequently travelers, and this was the worst Hotel we have stayed in our entire lives. The room was outdated, with depressing decoration, bathroom had mold, and mildew, it was disgusting, smell bad, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable, which gave me backache. Breakfast ends at 9 am, not much option, horrible. There was nothing good about this place. We choose this place thinking it was good, because the Homewoods in Downtown Richmond it is, and price it is the same, but not this location near Airport Richmond. They need to put down that building and remodel the entire hotel. If I could give minus 5 star I would.
