A little late in giving my “HONEST” review especially after visiting a million times I guess that’s a little too much but you get my point : . I and my husband both love the food here - from chat to pav bhaji to thali, I haven’t tried 100% of the items but I believe have tried a lot of them. And believe me, one of my fav Indian “consistent “ restaurants in the neighbourhood. Every time I have been there, I have never been surprised in a negative way, food always tasted the same. I truly enjoy their sev puri, pav bhaji, grill sandwiches, dabang dosa, and oh my god their “mutter methi malai” with Onion kulacha is delicious. One of the servers had recommended and ever since I haven’t stopped ordering. There have been higher wait times when I come after 7.30 -8pm but mostly I get seated quickly. The best time is to come around 6.30 so everything is pretty quick. Glad to have this restaurant closer to where I live ^_^
Honestly the food here is Great !!! Enjoyed the ambiance and the way it was presented! Definitely worth the trip ! Recommend all their crazy sandwiches! Veggie feast !!Food: 5/5
Great restaurant to try some Indian street food. The Vada Pav, and Masala Pav were amazing, we also tried the Bhel and Dahi Puri which were really good. Also tried the Manchurian Momos which were surprisingly good, all in all great place for Indian street food, would definitely recommend this place.Recommended dishesKattappa Sandwich, Bhel
Honest is famous for it’s Indian chaat street food and the occasional vegetarian entrees. This time around, I saw something peculiar in the menu and wanted to try it out; the weekend Thali. We visited this place on a weekend night and I must say this was packed with people and the wait time was hovering over 20 minutes. We were a party of 4 and were contemplating whether to dine in or take out but allure of the Thali hooked us all in to wait it out. The Thali consisted of 2 curries paneer + potato and eggplant, rice, dal, papad, choice between roti and naan paired with a desert. They also have a la carte menu along with desert menu which consists of cakes and pastries. Talking purely about the thali, the food was fresh and delicious. Honest, despite being so famous for it’s appetizers and chaat offerings, surprised all of us with this thali. Everything on the plate was so yum that we finished every last bit of food on the plate. Despite not being a traditional Thali place, the food offered was above the mark, and frankly, exceptional. Another plus was the service here; impeccable. From start to finish the servers were attentive and courtious. Even though the food was the main selling point here, not everything is perfect about this particular location. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side and feels congested; the tables are arranged very close to each other and there’s barely any room to walk around. The parking situation also is limited. If you happen to be at this place during the weekends like we did, expect a long wait time. Honest impressed me with it’s Thali and the impressive service. Everything was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Although the restaurant feels a bit cramped, the food more than out-weights the flaw. The weekend thali is an easy recommendation and can be enjoyed with family, friends and colleagues alike.
My daughter and I tried this restaurant for the first time. She loved the Chocolate Dosa, and I enjoyed the Pav Bhaji. However, the filter coffee was too strong, and the milk was added poorly. The next day, we ordered the same dishes and loved them again, but the masala tea was not good. We had to chase the server for attention, and the customer service needs improvement. They should check the quality of hot drinks like tea and coffee to make them tastier. Despite this, it's a great place for North Indian food, and I'd like to try more dishes from their menu. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian food is exclusively served here. Kid-friendliness: A menu featuring vegetarian options for children is available.
We ordered Undhiyuspecial, veg momosspecial, cheese pulav and butter scotch pastry If you're from North-West India, the pulav was spot on. As a Gujarati, my expectations for Undhiyu were limited but it definitely surprised me. We loved Undhiyu and Pulav. The only disappointment was veg momos. The stuffing was of soy and NOT veggies. Also, we are pretty sure they used frozen momos and it wasn't something they made there. The sauce on top was good though. The butterscotch pastry was pretty good. Perfect sweetness and not too sweet as we prefer. Last but not the least, the restaurant ambiance was really good. I love the signs in Gujarati and it is spacious. Good job to whoever is running this place. Vegetarian options: Everything here is pure vegetarian. They have eggless bakery options as well.
ordered Paubhaji along with a couple of other items from Honest restaurant in McKinney & while eating I found a piece of plastic in the pau. I called the restaurant no manager wanted to talk about that, ultimately they refunded only for 1 pau bhaji not the whole order, guys please check what are u eating & now I am cooking at home for my self Vegetarian options: This is about every one Health
Do not prefer to go for a thaali, because there was too much butter, and the rice quantity was really low. There are very less curry options. DO NOT go for the paneer 65, because it's a bhajji, not a 65. They told us to cut it our selves.Food: 2/5
We went to Honest McKinney today for lunch with my family along my in laws as they were heading back home I mean India in a week. They have had different cuisines. I got them Chinese bhel which was good, Sev puri was good too, Hakka noodles and Katappa sandwich was really good compared to everything that we had today. We mix veg Jaipuri curry and roti was not tasty at all, it is way below our expectations. It was pricey and quantity was very low as well and don’t suggest it to anyone. Sandwiches, chats and pav bhajji are the things I recommend everyone In honest honestly!!!
Food: Flavor packed food! The food all came out hot and fresh. The pav bhaji and dahi puri were my favorite and really hit the spot. The black pepper and amul butter in the bhaji really added some flavor. I prefer the regular pav bhaji over the special, which contains dry fruits. The dahi puri was really well filled and exploded with chutney and dahi yogurt. My mom ordered a sandwich, it was good, filled and topped with lots of amul cheese, IYKYK Service: Very friendly! And quick! The food started coming out one after another. My parents and I shared everything we ordered so there was no waiting for us. We just dug right in. Ambiance: Monday night and there was a wait at 8pm! It was lively and fast paced. A throw back to India, and I say that in the best way.
