I had a very positive experience pre/post op. Irma, RN in pre op, Amanda, RN in recovery room and Kim, RN on the floor were all excellent, very caring and responsive. I felt safe with them and being a nurse myself, and I couldn't have asked for better care. Keep up the good work, patients need nurses like you
We are very pleased with our Honor Health / Virginia G. Piper Oncologists, Dr. Tsai, Dr Gordon and Radiologist, Dr. Sckolnik, Surgeon, Dr. Gillespie … and all the professional staff, nurses and technicians we have had guiding and successfully helping me through my NSC lung cancer treatments! Glad we made the decision to have them provide their knowledgeable guidance, including their multiple-disciplinary board review of my case from time-to-time when needed… good diagnostic and recommended treatment advice!
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007.I have been going to Virginia Piper ever since. All of my Dr.s have been kind , understanding, and very helpful. I feel the treatment I have received has prolonged my life. I would highly recommend Honor Health and Virginia Piper.
The doctors, nurses, MAs, staff - have all been wonderful. I don't like that I have to come here, but I'm so glad for the wonderful care I receive. Would recommend VGP Cancer Center to anyone who has the misfortune to need a cancer center.
If you are looking for concerned, sensitive, and compassionate care this is NOT your place. If you want medical attention that treats you like a number, doesn't address your concerns and will spend all of 5 minutes with you then this is the place for you. Piper Center is all about the in-house referrals and the insurance fees and no one of the three doctors I saw for 8 months could be bothered to treat me as an individual or do anything other than provide Pidgeon-hole care. Oh...and dont forget the suprise, hidden "facility charges" on top of your co-pay. It wasnt until I got fed up with no answers, no responses to my concerns, and went elsewhere for a second opinion--after two surgeries and over 18 co-pays--that I found compassionate and concerned treatment. Piper Center and the affiliated doctors that I experienced are a syndicate and a racket for herding women thru their doors at maximum volume and the fastest speed. Shame on this "famous" center for being in the Breast Amputation game with no tools for dealing with the WHOLE woman. If you get referred here by your Primary Doc or Gyno, go immediately for second options. You will find a world of caring physicians elsewhere and not cookie-cutter medicine...Lindauer, Sigalove, and Finkel, I am talking about you.
I don’t know where to start. You would think a place that is aimed at helping cancer patients would; 1. Return calls in a timely manner. I know I’m not the only one with cancer and in excruciating pain. Returning a call 9 days later is unacceptable. 2. Show some compassion. I’m scared. This cancer journey is new to me. The last thing I need is someone getting an attitude with me for calling and leaving a message. If the proper people would call back, I wouldn’t have to call 17 times a day! 3. Please don’t tell me to email HonorCares. I did and it got me nowhere! Do we stay in pain? Go somewhere else when we’ve forked over so much money already? Never mind, don’t answer me. It might take you 9 days to reply.
The physician - Frank Tsai, M.D. and his staff, including the phlebotomist are exceptionally kind, professional and go out of their way to help you if you have questions or need information.
I could not have been more pleased with the way I was treated by everyone there. From the person who took me to the radiology waiting room to everyone in between until I was wheeled to the exit. I had a thoracenthesisspelling? and I already feel better after getting so much fluid off my lungs. Professional and courteous all the way through!
I arrived on time 11:30 am for my chemo drip that I have been getting every 3 weeks for 11/2 years at another practice. Once seated it should take approximately 30 minutes. On October 20th, after being seated, I was told all the paperwork wasn’t signed., then all the lab work wasn’t completed I had come the day before for that blood draw so it should have all been done. To complete the mess, my immunotherapy drug didn’t come from the hospital pharmacy for hours so I was not able to leave until almost 2 pm! Although the staff were very patient, competent, and kind, all the other chaos is unacceptable!!
Dr. Mike Janicek just transferred to this group from Arizona Oncology in October 2021. I had surgery with him in Sept 2021 and he was amazing. He has great bedside manners, was thorough in our pre-op appointment and answered all of my questions. After surgery I had a small complication self induced and he was beyond accommodating and responsive when I had to call his office on a Saturday. No one wants to require surgery, but if you do, rest assured you're in great hands with Dr. Janicek!
