About

Seventh Day Adventist Christian Education

Description

Hood View Junior Academy is a private Seventh-day Adventist Christian School in Boring, OR. Sitting on 20 beautiful wooded acres, grades Preschool through 8th grade are taught not only reading, writing, and arithmetic, but morals, values and character traits.
Academically, Hood View is a leader. A NAAS accredited school, we believe in approaching a child’s education holistically – to not only educate, but enrich our children. Students at Hood View participate in Music, Art, Computer Skills and Physical Education, all taught by specialized teachers. Students consistently score at least one grade level above the average student on standardized tests.
But Hood View isn’t just about academics. At HVJA, the staff creates a safe environment where each student will be encouraged to have a personal relationship with God and positive relationships with others. HVJA nurtures a healthy self image and teaches students to make healthy choices.
Hood View implements Love and Logic into all of our classrooms. This approach to teaching empowers students to think for themselves and prepares them to function effectively in a society filled with temptations, decisions, and consequences. It also raises the level of student responsibility, while treating each student with respect and dignity.
We pride ourselves on a ‘family feel’ environment: safe, nurturing and character building. Our small class size and caring teachers are examples of what we stand for at Hood View Junior Academy: Preparing People for a Christ-Centered Life…one child at a time.
