I can’t believe I’m writing a raving review about a random gift shop cafe, but as a big foodie, this place deserves it. You kind of expect to get your burger handed to you in aluminum foil too quickly, or your wrap to have the tortilla a little too soft, but no, not this place. They clearly marinated the chicken in the wrap and perfectly seasoned everything. The balance of sauce to crunch to ingredients was absolutely stellar and it felt incredibly fresh. The biggest burger was $22, and man, I expected a triple cheeseburger to kind of skimp on the patty size, but they’re all the same size as you’d get in a single burger. I am thrilled we pulled the trigger on this cafe and the staff are incredibly fun and kind. I love places like this that just surprise you.
They have a decent selection of food available, lots of things like burgers and dogs and fries and other standard American fare. Prices were reasonable for a national park, think like 9-11 bucks for a by-the-numbers burger or wrap. Our tour guide recommended the footlong dam dog, and he was right to do so. Best bang for your buck on the menu and the dog itself is huge. It'll feed a bunch of kids on a dime or one very hungry person. The Cafe is attached to the gift shop. Seating is very limited, that's the obit real complaint. If you're on a tour bus, you'll have to get lucky to get a seat to eat, so expect to stand.
We had lunch from this place when we visited Hoover Dam. You order food, pay, find a place to sit and then go get your food when they call your order number. The place has a kids menu and both indoor and outdoor seating. Pros: Tasty food, Decent food portions, Friendly staff, Kids Menu, Indoor and outdoor seating Cons: Expensive as expected in a tourist location Note: When we visited, many of the packaged items chips, water, etc.. there were Costco products / Kirkland brand, but with marked up pricing.
I feel sorry for anyone that has to put up with these employees on a daily basis. I could not believe the rudeness and disdain for customers. I asked for a cup of ice because the drink I was buying was very hot and I was informed the ice would cost $1. When I said I was simply asking for ice to cool a drink I was buying which should have been cold to begin with, the employee basically yelled at me and said “take the cup and leave, I am not doing this today”. I was appalled at the uncalled rudeness from this employee. It should be illegal to treat people so poorly. I hope she has a better day tomorrow.
Considering what it is burgers and sandwiches it’s pretty pricey. But you are also a captive audience as there is nothing else for miles. Food was good, not great, but filling. Best part was adding a drink to our meal and we could refill it during our whole day at the Dam.Food: 4/5
Our family's road trip took us through Nevada a few weeks ago so we stopped to visit Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam Cafe is a cool and delicious gem in a sea of tourists and heat. It's a cafeteria style eatery. You order, pay, find somewhere to sit, then go grab your food. The staff were friendly. The facilities were clean and spacious. We found a table as our party were in line to order. Their footlong hotdogs were plump and delicious with generous toppings. The signature burger were one of the best burgers we had in the Vegas area. The patty was perfectly seasoned and moist. The bacon was crispy and thick. Lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh and crisp. The contrast hit all the right criteria. We also grabbed their large smoothie. It was refreshing, smooth, full of flavor. The price was a little intimidating but considering inflation and where it's located, we took the dive and tried their menu. It was worth it. We all left very happy.
Cafe at a magnificent historic site. The food is quite good and the place is bright. At such a remote spot, the price is reasonable especially when one considers the big portions of the meals.
Good menu selection, everything was freshly made right in front of you. The burger was $17 and a drink was $4, but it is a tourist attraction so it wasn't unexpected. Overall, the chili cheese burger and fries were really good.
I had low expectations for a $12 chili dog. When it arrived, I was amazed at a large dog, on top of a tray of hot delicious fries. The bun looked like a homemade one, and it was the best. I have never done a food review- it was that good.
After taking the power plant tour of the Dam, my family and I were super hungry and the cafe provided a plethora of options :Recommended dishesHot Dog, Chicken Fingers, Cheeseburger
