Description

Hoover Historical Center is located on Walsh University's north campus inside Hoover Park, original Hoover family farmland. The story of the Hoover legacy, a name known around the globe, is preserved and shared here. Tours begin in primitive 1840s building where docents brief visitors on family history and original business of tanning. The evolution of cleaning devices is displayed here with inter-actives for visitors - manual sweepers from the mid-late 1800s and early 1900s. Hoover history continues in the family's Victorian home with the first 1908 Hoover vacuum through the 2008 Hoover 100th Anniversary line. Elegance abound with Victorian décor, furnishings and ladies' fashions which complement the history. War memorabilia, Hoover songs, ads, plant histories and more!

The HHC is like literally the best vacuum museum in the world! Through a guided tour, you learn the history of the Hoover industry and the home William Henry Hoover lived in. The tour lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, but it’s worth it. You first start at the Tannery Building around back and tour the house which is the best part and see all sorts of floor cleaners, vintage and modern. I think my favorites are the Model O, Model 140, Constellation, and the Concept One. This place is worth visiting if you’re an avid vacuum fan like me!
Who knew the history of the vacuum could be so interesting?! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, kind, sweet, and fun. Most importantly, she did a great job keeping my 10-year-old focused and engaged. She was so patient, and answered all his questions - and he had a lot of them! If you're interested in history, the Hoover company, and/or North Canton, you should stop by.
This is a great museum showcasing the history of the Hoover Company. It is full of very interesting artifacts, and the story is told by some amazing docents. You have to check this place out. Best of all, it is free!
This place is a hidden gem! Tours are free and given by wonderful docents who tailor the tour to your interests and are very knowledgeable and pleasant! You'll be surprised by the early days of the company and moved by the actions of the company during WWII! A great place to bring visitors from out of town!
