Hoover Metropolitan Stadium

Description

Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, formerly known as Regions Park, is a former minor league baseball park located in the Birmingham, Alabama, USA, suburb of Hoover. It was home of the Birmingham Barons of the Southern League from 1988 to 2012, replacing historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham. The stadium also serves as the home for the SEC Baseball Tournament, as well as the primary home for Hoover High School football. It is located in the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Area near Interstate 459 at Exit 10 just off Alabama State Route 150. The stadium is located three miles from the Riverchase Galleria, one of the south's largest shopping centers. The seating capacity is 10,800 for baseball and can accommodate up to 16,000 when the patio, banquet, and grassy side areas are used. The stadium also houses 12 suites and state-of-the-art dressing and training rooms. The stadium also features a meeting/banquet room named for Michael Jordan, who played for the Barons during his brief foray into professional baseball, during which time the stadium experienced its largest crowds for professional baseball.

GREAT venue… if they move the SEC tournament they will have BIG shoes to fill. I can’t imagine a better place set up more fan friendly than the Met.
A beautiful complex! Laid out nice. Turf fields, no spikes. Great parking. Entry fees with card reader only, no cash accepted at entry. Bleachers with shade. Can bring tents and chairs. Great concession options. No seeds or gum allowed. Clean restrooms.
The Hoover Metropolitan Complex is a great place to catch a baseball game or other event. It is a well-maintained facility with comfortable seats, great views, and a fun atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to enjoy a sporting event.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$21–30
Used to enjoy going to Hoover met for SEC tournament, but this year was different. Parking was more remote than in past, and vendors, all of them except dipping dots had lines which were waaaaay too long. In addition to food lines, sitting on first or 3rd base line is a horrible seat to have. Why? Because the netting prevents a clear look at the plays on field. It's hard to follow ball sometimes. I understand the "safety" issue, but for for true fans it's a pain. Especially as we age. Baseball fans should learn how to watch a game rather than socializing and feeding their faces. Watch the game. Be aware of consequences if you don't pay attention.
Up until the World Games I had not been in this stadium. Lucky enough to acquire medal round tickets for Women's softball I finally had the opportunity to enter this facility. It is nicely kept and several places to get food and drinks. I was pleasantly surprised to see beer being sold here. The seats were great and the sky from the sunset was an excellent backdrop as the game began. It was Team USA versus Japan for the gold medal. It was a close game with the umpires making it interesting with a few questionable calls but Tesm USA prevailed 3 - 2 avenging their loss to Japan in the 2020 Olympics. The Hoover police did a terrific job managing traffic and providing escort for the athlete's to and from the stadium. If I get the opportunity to attend another sporting event here I will definitely go back.
Facility is great as we are visiting for the SEC tournament. Even with all the crowds vendors, keep up fairly well and have bathrooms, at least the men's stay fairly clean. One note that the line for ordering nachos is a little disorganized and should be reorganized to flow more efficiently. The pay lines cross into the pickup line, which is hectic for which order food comes out and is picked up. Price for entry: $30.00 Ticket type: SEC baseball tickets section 200's

Stayed in the rv park and had an issue of someone vandalizing my site. Notified the admin via email, 2 phone calls and fb messenger and no response. The garbage has been overflowing the entire 6 days we have been here. Will post the photos shortly of the dozens of crows that are tearing up the garbage because there is no place to put in except the surrounding areas on the ground. I have made a complaint over 48 hours ago. Terrible customer service.
My sunglasses were left in the bathroom and unfortunately no one turned them in. Opportunity to take is there. Thievery in the staff? Otherwise, ok, limited mobility elevators for physically disabled. Where are your recycling bins?
Such a beautiful ball park! Their center I think Finley center is the name had a bunch of games set up for the families with kids. They do a great job keeping the park clean and there isn’t a bad seat in the house!
