The most kind and compassionate pharmacy or medical provider period I've dealt with. From fighting the insurance for me to treating me with respect while the big chain pharmacies treated me like scum due to my specific disease. I've accomplished so much over the past several years and lived a life with dignity where ppl with my disease are treated like filth by most of the medical system, and this pharmacy is part of the reason I've excelled in life so much despite my disease.
I always wait so long for my medication. It is never filled by when they say it will be which costs me hours of time, on top of the time I have to spend in the hospital. I even tried to call again to make sure before I drove over, but no one picked up. This is the 3rd time. Disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone at all.
Hand down the best pharmacy I have used. After my double lung transplant, dealing with the Insurance companies was stressful and scary, trying to navigate prescriptions. Still, Hoover Pharmacy does it all and works with your doctor's office on your behalf. You sit back and relax, and they'll do all the paperwork and even mail You Prescriptions to your home.
This pharmacy refuses to work with Stanford to carry a medication that I need. Instead, Stanford has to work with a pharmacy in San Francisco and have the medication sent via FedEx to Stanford overnight the day before my appointment to receive the medication. FedEx sometimes fails to meet their overnight commitment and I miss a dose, having to instead wait until my next appointment. This is very, very unpleasant. Either pharmacists don't take the Hippocratic Oath, or Hoover's isn't living up to theirs.
This pharmacy recently moved to 211 Hoover Plaza. This is equal to the best pharmacy that I have ever been to. They always have my medication in stock, they fill my prescriptions while I wait, and they are kind and friendly people. I used to use Walgreen's because their prices were so low, but Medical Plaza Pharmacy has the same price for my medications and they are much better than Walgreen's on every level. Larger pharmacies treat people like a number, but not Medical Plaza. They treat me with kindness and respect and I feel like a person, not a number. The difference is so massive that I wish I found this place 5 years ago. It would have saved me a lot of suffering at the hands of large corporate pharmacies like Walgreen's. Today, for example, I had 2 prescriptions filled as I waited. It took less than 15 minutes and I was in and out of there in a flash. No need to double verify the medications with my MD. No need to give photo ID when I drop off and pick up because they know me and remember me. Just good people doing a good job who care about their customers and want them to return. I will NEVER go to Walgreen's again!!
After my lung transplant my doctors sent all my new meds to Medical Plaza Pharmacy because it’s close to Stanford and the hospital. I hate to say it but I’ve never had this kind of experience with a pharmacy. Whenever I went to refill prescriptions it was as if they had no idea what medication I was talking about. I would go in to pick up and almost every time either a prescription was missing, wasn’t filled, or it wasn’t put in the computer correctly. This has gone on for over a year. This last pick up was the last straw. I refilled prescriptions on a Friday and I come in today Monday and nothing is ready for pick up because it wasn’t put in the computer correctly. I’ve had enough so I’ve switched all my prescriptions to Walgreens.
Very happy with this pharmacy. They provided fast, efficient and friendly service. They also had a significantly better price on the meds I needed, compared to the other national brand pharmacies. Basic selection of OTC meds are also available. I would definitely go back and use them again. Thumbs up.
Best pharmacy I have ever used! They are always on top of things, super organized, friendly, professional and efficient! Same day home delivery works like a charm!
Unethical and illegal practices! Won't transfer prescriptions cause they'll lose money and don't run insurance correctly causing you to pay more! They're not even part of Stanford medical they're private.
i would not recommend this place when it come to refill medications
