Hoover Police Department’s long-standing commitment to the youth in our community is demonstrated by its support of the Police Explorer Post.
The Explorer Program is a career development program, which emphasizes academic study, character development, and self-discipline. Explorers also assist police and city personnel at functions where they may be called upon for a variety of tasks, such as distributing information, fingerprinting children, or traffic control, just to name a few. Each year, the Explorers contribute approximately 500 volunteer hours towards study and community service to the Police Department and the City of Hoover.
We meet every Thursday night at the Hoover Police Operations Center from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
In partnership with Boy Scouts of America, the Explorer Program provides young men and women the opportunity to study the field of law enforcement and community service first-hand.
