Hopkins Library
"Library service to the Hopkins community was established more than 100 years ago, when the library was housed in City Hall. The library moved to the historic Dow House in 1948 and then temporarily to a vacant restaurant in 1963. The library opened in its current location in 1968 and was renovated in 2002 and 2015."

Good quiet place for studying in the back tables. Movies are the first shelf from the entrance. The kids movies have been moved from the back corner to the shelf between the kids area and computers. Has a conference room, bathroom and an exterior book return. Pretty chill with minimal people and just soft murmuring from time to time. Close proximity to Mainstreet but minimal traffic and exterior noise.
5 stars for the library staff and two big thumbs down for the patron who yelled at me because my baby was crying for a couple minutes while I comforted her. “Public” means the library is open for use to anyone, including babies who sometimes cry.
Went here with some classmates to study for an exam. Nice and quiet place to work. But the wi-fi wasn't working for me.
Small but modern library located in the heart of downtown.
July 2022 - just FYI: Printing and copying is no longer free. But I really like the redone parking lot. So much easier to get in and out. One shade tree was taken out though. Hope they replace it, it was nice to park in the shade during the summer. Now people are fighting for the other shade tree spots.
There very friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to help
It's always clean and very pleasant the front desk people are always willing to help and the lids section my sons love it
Second time in a row I've been in and kids are running amuck and yelling. Suppose that's bad parenting, not librarians fault. Full disclosure, kids irritate the hell out of me so I might be overly fussy on that topic. But even adults were having loud conversation. Seriously, the loudest library I've ever been in. Small selection no matter the genre. But it's awesome that you can order from other libraries. Computer search system is extremely user friendly. I lost my card. Young guy working the service desk was so darn nice and helpful. All the staff is super friendly and approachable. Even the security guard. Now if they could just get everyone to HUSH that would be amazing.
The lady was helping get some books, they were all out. Which was fine. I pulled my mask down a little to pull a hair and she flips out and said " you need to put your mask on " I said I am I was just pulling a hair. I was standing behind the belt line they had up, a plastic shield and she had her mask on. I was done asking her for anything more !
issues with the library 1 to 3 are with Quiet Study Room: 1. people talk like it's their home they do not care for the rules. some people mistake it for religious place like mosques. church and stae are seperate and people should know. 2. They have head phones but everyone can hear their music. 3. observed for one month I have never seen anyone disinfect nor clean the head phones, keyboard, counter tops include the hall, meeting rooms, quiet room, door handles, plastic chairs. please bring your own wipes or spray to clean the place your going to use. 4. the kids toys, play area: hmmm not sure what to say u can assume from above what I can say in this case. best place to improve your kids immune systems. note: there is one meeting room for reservations and another room for people to do work with no cell phone usage poster, the door has rules what not to do commonly call quiet room that is not reserved.
