I got the California Thanksgiving sandwich on Sourdough. The turkey was super fresh, there’s just enough cranberry to give it a little sweetness, toasted gave it a nice crunch. The avocado was fresh. The sourdough bread was delicious. It all melded together nicely for a consistently delicious bite, all the way through the entire sandwich eating experience. It was cut hamburger style rather than diagonal, which was also a nice change-up. It paired nicely with the adaptogen Yerba mate that I also purchased. It also came very nicely wrapped which provided ample protection between my sandwich and the table once I unwrapped it to eat. Finally, I’d like to mention the incredible customer service and the fact that I really love the guys working there. It was a delightful experience.
This is the best liquor store and deli in downtown! The sandwiches are made fresh to order with great inredients. My husband loves the California Thanksgiving. As a vegetarian, I love the On the Mark, toasted on jalapeño cheddar bread. My niece asked me to bring her an Italian Club sandwich all the way up to North County they'rethat yummy. The liquor store has a huge selection, and if there is anything they don't carry, Joe will get it for you. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. No need to go anywhere else.
New to the area and figured we would give this little deli a try. I didn't expect much, but I wasn't happy with what I got. I got an Italian sandwhich, and it had decent amount of meat on it, and 2 small spinach leaves, followed by hardest any cheese. The bread had a onion hoagie roll had a squirt of Italian salad dressing on it and was dry. My wife ordered the New York nod that was pastrami and swiss, they choose a pretzel roll. What she got was a measley pretzel roll with one slice of pastrami and one slice of swiss hardly any sour kraut and lathered in mustard. Neither of these sandwhiches was worth the $12 for them, $15 if you got the $2 snack size chip. Great liquor store for Downtown, but skip the food.
Liquor store/deli with a wide selection of alcohol for the size and good sandwiches. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly; they've made recommendations and helped me make decisions with wine and whiskey multiple times!
Best Sandwiches in San Diego! Their Rosemary roll is what living is all about! Huge menu as well as build your own, portions are very generous and the alcohol and wine selection ain't bad either!!
Shady practice. Extremely rude manager and employees. Overpriced. Unless you’re in desperate need of something, avoid this place at all costs.
Best deli and sandwiches in town. Joe and Joey are San Diego staples and if you’re in the area give this place a visit
I hate leaving bad reviews, but I mean cmon. I paid for a Ruben, and I got a cold, dry, sauerkraut sandwich with a single slice of pastrami. Not to mention the bread is stale and crumbling. Don’t order the Ruben. ‍
Not one to leave reviews, but this place is terrible. $12 for a dry sandwich was 2 slices of meat in it? Then they're bold enough to charge almost $4 for a bottle of Smart Water? No wonder there were no prices posted. Don't waste your money- go to the Foodery across the street.
Italian sandwich was okay, kind of dry. Bread didn’t seem fresh.
