Just checked out this place the other day since they recently opened. Nice little bar with some good micro brews. Got the Carolinian burger 8 oz mid rare and it was cooked to perfection. The burger was delicious, the fried green tomato was delicious and the bacon was cooked perfectly as well. The bartenders and waitresses/hostesses were all super friendly. Met one of the waitresses McKenzie who was super nice. The price is moderate, pretty average compared to Buns and Al's Burgers in town. But I think their burger combination far surpasses those two. Will definitely return in the near future.
Went to Hops on a Friday night around 6:30pm and there was a 90 min wait so we finally got a seat outside. The food was solid although the beer was small servings and $$$. I got the Carolina Burger with buffalo blue cheese fries. Burger didn’t have a whole lot of flavor but the toppings were great and the fries were solid.
Wonderful place. Great atmosphere very good food reasonable prices. Did the byo and was a little under 11 dollars for one person. And only had water. I would definitely return from Florida
This place has the best burgers I've ever had! A few weeks ago, my friend and I were reminiscing about the Greensboro location, and for some reason he posted the link in our chat session. I clicked on it to look at the menu again and reminisce about the delicious , and for some reason I clicked on the directions link, and the first thing I saw was "140 W. FRANKLIN ST., CHAPEL HILL, NC" Right away I said "holy ! There's a chapel Hill location!" And my friend replied "holy !" I immediately made plans to come by and see if it was as good as the Greensboro one. I'm very happy to say it is just as good! And much closer!!! I will visiting this location regularly.
This was my first time trying this place and it definitely won't be my last! Trendy modern bar atmosphere, good service, and great food. I had the "college hill blues" with sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium and had lots of blue cheese usually I feel like restaurants are skimpy on blue cheese burgers but this one was perfect and the sweet potato fries were lightly seasoned with cinnamon and sugar and were delicious. My husband got the "French onion" burger and onion rings and it was also delicious although I liked mine slightly more. The onion rings were incredibly good and worth the $2 upcharge. They were made with purple onions which added nice flavor and had a light tempura style batter.
Awesome new burger place on Franklin St. Stopped by for a late lunch. Got the red onion rings to start. They were delicious, and had some nice spice to them. My wife and I each got a burger and fries. The burgers were good, but the fries left something to be desired. Next time I would get the sweet potato fries. Unfortunately I had a long drive that evening and wasn't able to try their draft list, but everything looked amazing. I'll definitely be back again.
This place has something for almost anybody you bring with you if you're a burger fan. I have tried each burger creation they have and I'm split between the North Carolinian burger and The spicy goat. You can sub a beef patty for chicken and they also have veggie patties and salads for the ones in your group they dont eat meet. They also have a ever changing beer menu and what is about to come for there draft it's always something to look at and try something new in that aspect. Also the staff is always helpful and polite. They have always fixed any issue or helped with any special request.
Very large portion of food and super delicious burgers!! Their meat patties smells amazing and are very juicy.
My friends always talked about how great this place was so I finally tried it. We went at about 6:30 on a Saturday and it was busy but we had great service. I got the spicy goat burger with regular fries and my friend got Parmesan truffle fries-all of it was delicious!
Did not like the chicken salad. To chopped up and salty. Could barely see the grape pieces. Thought it would be more like the chicken salad at Arbys or other cafes. Will not order again. However, my grandson ordered and liked the burger and fries
