The Story Behind The Art
When I was a kid, I was always creating. Forts in the woods, holes in the ground, wood carvings, Lego creations, refrigerator art, sewing projects, I even made little set-designs and photographed them! I wish I could find those pictures! Then it got to be more serious as I grew up, making fake news reports with pictures from the winter storm that iced over our whole neighborhood. My sister gave me drawing lessons, and I attend an art class from our family friends. I was honored to design a mural for a building wall in Omaha, NE, and also designed and painted a mural at Grace University, also in Omaha, NE. Anyway, my point is it's been a life-long passion.
Of course I made a complete disaster as a child, and still do, but I absolutely love being unconventional and messy. I find something I want to paint or draw and I just can't get my mind off of it until it's done. I've always loved making art from nature and natural things, such as animals, plants, scenery, people, and still life sets that include, you guessed it, more nature! You can probably tell just my looking in my store.
At the time, I feel so incapable of completing what my mind sees, but when I'm done with a project, all I can think is, “there's no way that came from my hands!” That's why I know it's not me who does it. I create because the One who created me gave me hands that desperately want to tell of His creation. It's so freeing to be able to let my hands and mind do what they're meant to do, and it's so exciting to then share that experience with you!
****This page exists as my "Creative Corner" that I'll be able to share with you what I'm up to and what new pieces I've got for sale! I'm so excited to be on this journey with you! Thank you SO much for your support!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Hosanna Jill is my birth name, and after weeks, months, and years of testing out name after name, and so many ideas, I just wanted to use my name. After all, it means a lot, and it reflects why I do what I do.
