"Here at Hospice, we care for individuals suffering from life-limiting illness, with a prognosis of six months or less. Hospice care provides comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual care that is tailored to an individual’s and family's needs and wishes when seeking comfort versus curative treatment. Our palliative care team works with patients’ physicians to help manage symptoms and related issues to reduce stress and improve quality of life."

My 42 year old twin sister is currently here. I had to leave to come back home to Washington state yesterday. The only way I could leave my precious sister is because of the warm and caring staff and volunteers at this hospice home. I know she is well taken care of and cared for. I enjoyed getting to know Angela and Justine her nursing aids, her doctor, and social worker. This facility is pristine and it really shows that everyone who works there takes pride in their work.Thank you for being an amazing place that my sister can live out the rest of her days in.
My Mom passed away yesterday at this hospice facility & I can’t say enough great things about the nursesstaff their care, the grounds of the facility itself & the overall atmosphere. It’s very beautiful outside there, well maintained and even though the weather wasn’t exactly super ideal during my Mom’s first stay in April of this year, the facility was still clean & kept up very well. The wild deer come up to the windows and feed from the bird feeders & seeing them is just an amazing peaceful site. The nurses genuinely care & provided excellent care to my Mom and let me tell you she was a hand full on quite a few occasions during her two stays they handled her with immediate concern & showed compassion in doing so, as if it was one of their own family members. The nurses also were very accommodating to family & friends who came to visit asking them on several occasions if they needed anything & were always pleasant in going to retrieve said items. We were always kept in the loop on her prognosis & updated even more frequently on her conditions when death was imminent. We were explained to in a honest yet caring manner , which has helped us deal & prepare better for her decline & passing. Even the social worker & clergy were caring & super helpful. They have a few different rooms you can go into and relax in & they also have a cafeteria. Be prepared as the cafeteria doesn’t have many selections, but the prices are least decently priced. I absolutely recommend this hospice facility, if you are needing to come here yourself or are needing to bring a loved one here.
My grandmother Audrey passed away here in September 22’ The staff and nurses are fantastic, they really know how to support families during hard times, I must say one thing tho… there’s a black cat that hangs out by the front doors and when my 2 year old walk out the doors the cat attacked his hand left a nice scratch on him, all he did was walk, he didn’t even try to pet it or anything.. he’s scared of animals. I handled it obviously he is fine now, just want to warn others of the cat, as I saw the beware of cat sign after, but even if I saw it before my son was not entertaining the cat to begin with. I just don’t feel like it’s a family welcoming environment if you don’t see an animal and it randomly attacks your child? That was something hard to deal with when my grandmother passed the next day . Worrying about if the cat had rabies or not.
Absolute Angels ALL on the staff at the Como Park / Bender inpatient facility. My family cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and compassion at all levels from the receptionist to the nurses-to the doctors and the social work staff and chaplains and the administrative heads in charge. All were total class and caring as they worked and cried along with me at times, They handled my wifes difficult situation with total grace , confidence and dignity and were always there with us along the way. I cannot say enough about them. The Hospice Buffalo TEAM # 4 that assisted us in 3 weeks of home hospice were equally a blessing to us as well in very tough times they were always there. We could never have done what we did for 3 intense weeks without their leadership and inspiring words of encouragement and many-many shared tears. My family will be forever in gratitude for ALL they did for my wife and us. It could not possibly be any better than this when you realize you need the ultimate help in the toughest situation you will ever require it. You will not be alone! I say to Dr Kerr you can be PROUD of your staff! God Bless them ALL! I will always do what I can to help these wonderful people to try and pay forward their efforts. Gary Boyce & Family!
Hospice home care was amazing. Every single person that came to the house was beyond remarkable. They were compassionate, professional, and gentle with my mom and our family. She was always comfortable at home and got the care that she needed and wanted she was a nurse. It seemed that they catered to my mom's every need and made her transition so much easier for all. I can't thank Hospice's doctors, nurses, and aides for the care that they provideded for my mom and our family.
My sister-in-law was in the Hospice facility on Como Park Boulevard in June 2018. The Hospice staff, each and every one of them, are truly amazing. They took wonderful care of Jackie and they were truly a blessing to her. They also took wonderful care of our family during her stay there. We are forever grateful.
Greatly appreciate the amazing comfort that was given to Kevin during his short stay . Our families thank you for the love and comfort you gave us also. No words can express our gratitude for opening up your house and hearts to all of us!
Unfortunately using hospice buffalo is your only choice if you live in Erie county. They are not here with the patients best interest at heart. It's a shame because they do have wonderful nurses there but beyond that be careful.
