Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County serves individuals living at the end of life, their families and caregivers with free, non-medical support and comfort, and provides bereavement care.
Our guiding values are: Dedication to the preservation of individual dignity and quality of life; support for volunteers and the hospice team; hospice education and advocacy for the community we serve.
All services are given free of charge and include care at home, in the nursing home or hospital; respite for family caregivers; emotional support and companionship; assistance with daily activities; transportation to appointments; aid with identifying and using social, health and funeral resources; assistance with special family end-of-life wishes and events; bereavement support through programs and groups; speakers and educational programs and a lending library.
