Hot Topic Fair Oaks

If you’re into pop culture or you know someone who is, Hot Topic is going to be one of your favorite stores. Whether it’s Marvel movies or anime or even pop culture phenomenons like Hello Kitty you’ll find clothing, bags, jewelry and more here. Staff at this store were very helpful and friendly to myself and my teen as we were doing some back to school shopping. They literally climbed ladders to get things down for us. My biggest beef with Hot Topic is the prices. This is an expensive store, with T shirts running close to $30. They do offer coupons and cash back bucks to spend later and that is pretty much the only way they keep me willing to come back. Nevertheless it is my teen’s absolute favorite store at the Mall.

It's a nice store with all kinds of different shirts and items to buy. Not much room to move around when the store gets busy. If you like music and Manga, it's the store for you.

Fantastic. Just wonderful staff goes out of their way to go above and beyond in all that they do and just perfection highly recommended.

Nice selection compared to previous Hot Topic's I've gone to in the past... Though it is pretty cramped.

The employee’s review is real. I worked there a while back for even longer, the manager is abusive to her staff and is so bad that a lot of the time you’ll lose a whole collection of them all at once. They employees are FANTASTIC and great for the customers, but they are paid nothing and treated so awfully, that there was a point in time where they were warning people who mentioned it not to apply. Minimum wage isnt worth the mental health side effects. They’ll even berate you for being ill or poor as an employee. As a customer though? The staff is great. They are perfect and happy and helpful and kind. I would love to see them get paid more. The customer experience is amazing.

Hot topic has trending merchandise. I always get the best Harry Potter stuff from Hot topic. From car fresheners to funko pop. From wallets to costumes. They have everything. They keep posting deals like hot cash, buy two get two free which makes all merchandise pretty affordable. This is a place for everyone.

It’s been about a year or so since I got hired at this Hot Topic location. I explained to them during my interview that I had dyscalculia and could not really work the register that well. Needless to say, I was continuously put on the register even after explaining the situation, when I came up short multiple times, I was treated as if I were at fault. My coworkers were absolutely lovely. But once management found out that I had to take a leave due to a sudden visit to the psych ward, I was fired. Can’t help but feel this is discrimination. This workplace would be much better with a more understanding lead manager, it’s a good store with good people, but it pays horrible for the amount of work you are actually doing there. I can recommend shopping here, but as a workplace? I cannot.

This is a spacious Hot Topics with room between everything to move around. The merchandise seemed a little sparse compared to preCovid. The employees were very nice and helpful.
