I’m not a big camper actually haven’t been in maybe 10 years? and this was perfect. They have nice campsites, with distance from other groups although you are still close enough to feel like you aren’t secluded. The bathrooms have toilets, showers, running water, and behind that area is a sink to clean your dishes. We enjoyed site #42 because you can walk right down to the river. It’s a well maintained CT state park and I’ll definitely return.
Direct view of the Housatonic River on the left. Good for Fall views too. Picnic benches on the right and cars can be parked on the lawn right next to them. No grills or restrooms.
Beautiful weekend, first time at this campground. Quiet, clean and friendly informative staff. This location was perfect for our AT hiking adventures, with a trail head minutes away. We'll be back for sure!
One of our favorite camping spots. It’s right on the Housatonic River and next to the Appalachian Trail. Campgrounds are kept clean. Kids can safely bike around the grounds. There are bathrooms with a shower.
One of the best spots in CT to camp along the water! The campground staff in the office were very helpful. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean and well-sanitized, following COVID-19 protocol.
Great place for summer camping! We reserved site #18 waterfront it was absolutely beautiful out site #18 was like it had its own little private beach to the river!!
One of my favorite campgrounds within two hours from NYC. The sites are big and many shaded sites are available. The Housatonic river nearby is popular for fishing and kayaking but you can also wade in the water. A nice trail with great views from the top of the hill starts right across from the campground. For food shopping, a well stocked market in nearby Sharon has most of what you need as a camper. The staff is working hard to keep everything in good shape.
Organized, clean and quiet. Good structures, you can enjoy the river. Restrooms: Hot shower
Well maintained and with the sounds of the river, such a peaceful nights sleep. Great hiking trail across the road.
This year I found the bathrooms in much better shape! Was very pleased with that. All in all a nice place to camp and fish
