Houston BARC Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for the animals at the BARC municipal shelter. www.houstonbarcfoundation.org
Organized by private citizens and with the support of
Mayor Parker and The Houston City Council, the
BARC Foundation was created as a non-profit,
501(c)(3) fundraising organization.
The Foundation strives to improve the quality of life and survival rate of all homeless animals in Houston. In a major effort to prevent animals from becoming homeless and arriving at BARC, the Foundation’s goal is to raise money to directly support BARC’s life saving and homeless animal prevention programs, and to make spay and neuter assistance programs more widely accessible to Houston residents.
The BARC 's 2010 Founding Board of Directors - eight of Houston’s philanthropic leaders are;
Linda F. Barrett, Janet R. Dietrich, Danielle Ellis, Sidney Faust, Tena Lundquist Faust,
Tama J. Lundquist, Michelle Mantor and Sue Powell... all of whom share a deep love for animals.
The mission of the Houston BARC Foundation is to improve the quality of life for all animals in Houston, especially those at risk under the care of the City of Houston BARC municipal animal shelter.
Donations to the Foundation directly benefit animals sheltered at, or otherwise cared for by, BARC through purchases of medical, kennel, sanitary and other supplies and equipment.
The Foundation's efforts are also focused on raising public awareness among all Houstonians about homeless and at risk animals throughout our community
